Well before the movie I was talking to Leon in NY and he never wanted to be anybody but David. He said he would have taken any role(I doubt that). Being the biggest name in the movie he couldn't play anybody but David. We were at an NBA allStar exhibtion Summer Game and he played with us. And yea "old" ABA played 17 minutes and had 10pts and 8 rbs. Anyway we were talking about it and that's actually how I found out about it in the first place. Afterwards I confirmed the movie with Otis and found out how big a deal it would be. But they were doing spots in NY where the acters most notably Leon would walk up to somebody and ask them to sing thier favorite Temptations song. Iwas so excited waiting for the movie and I was not disapointed. Before I joined this board, I knew how inaccuarate it was but I didn't care. It was only after coming here that I realized the truth needs to be told.
The reason i say that is because I had no idea how affected people were by iy, I also didn't know the new generation of new fans that the movie started.

The movie helped attract a new generation of Temptations fans, and people who had lost track of the Tempts over the years became born-again fans. What I've noticed is that a lot of people do believe the movie, especially the people who knew nothing about the Tempts prior to seeing the miniseries. Otis Williams gave his concept: what about everyone else?

When the movie first came out I was about 14, and my brother was convinced from the jump that things weren't right about it. Even though I don't remember the movie from back then, when I saw it again last spring, I remembered what he had been saying. Just like with anything else when I take an interest in something, I try to get as much information as I can. Since I work with limited funds ;D, I turned to the internet (at first for basic biographical information). I found this place as well as places like Tempts4Ever and The House of Paul Williams. It's amazing the things you can learn around here, and not just about the Temptations.  |

Diva...that's what I mean. I didn't realize that so many people took the movie for fact until I joined here. I didn't care that it was inaccurate until I thought about how many people saw it and believed it. So I wanted to talk to somebody about it and see how others felt. It's important to me to share what I know and learn fromothers about them.  |
