Is Shaquille O'Neal not over 7 feet tall? I know there are more than those that you listed but I thought he would've been the 1st that you named. But then again that goes without say. ;D

Aww, who cares about him? Right IRLM?
Naw, I take that back, really! Don't come down on me all you Laker/O'Neal fans! And come on, we could never just forget about a such a powerful force. I know none of the NBA coaches can!

I take offense to all who get mad at the big man. What did he do but become big. So now you wnat to change the game. When it was Wilt they added three seconds. For Kareem they took out the dunk, and now Shaq they allow a zone defense in the league. When Michael was averaging over thirty points a game they never changed the rule. And I'm not sure that Shaq has ever averaged thirty. 400 dunks a year.....yes! Thirty points a game.........i don't think so. What's the fuss.? ;D ;D

And use his size to cheat... but I might need glasses and a psychological examination. I could just be seeing things. ;D

there's a rule in the nba that certain fouls are flagrant fouls-2 shots and the ball. they mentioned on tonight's game that shaq gets hacked evry night and doesn't get to the line for flagrant fouls. he's big, but that doesn't make it right to try to injure someone.
LAKERS HAVE WON 7 IN A ROW! KOBE HAD 51 IN LESS THAN 3 QUARTERS! HE SAT OUT THE LAST 13 MINUTES!
K.O.B.E.= KING OF BASKETBALL EXCELLENCE KILLING OTHER BALLCLUBS ESPECIALLY
HE'S SCORED ABOUT 300 POINTS IN THOSE 7 WINS!
the ballplayers and coaches agree on the other teams that kobe has become the most impressive player on the court since michael dominated in the 90's. the lakers are now 15-4 since they were 11-19. they're 1/2 game behind houston for the final playoff spot and there's 33 games to go. i would guess they'll be there and maybe go all the way again.

Did they also mention that Shaq also "hacks" and doesn't get called for it?

All big men take beatings like you wouldn't believe because little people say he's so big it doesn't hurt him. WRONG!!!!! if Shaq hit everybody back as hard as he is hit..he'd be out of the league. How does he cheat? How do you want to play this game? No contact? Well go home! this is a man's game! Expect to get hit! I Can't handle crying. We didn't say Michael was cheating cause he scored a million points. He got away with more fouls and traveling than anybody whoever played. But if they called all the infractions on him he committed you would have stopped going to see him play. He got away with murder all the time. No other player could do that. So if mike deserves a break cause he's a star then Shaq sure as hell deserves one.
oh yeah sukkafu mentioned it but let me say I believe my point is being proven as we speak about who the best player in the game is right now. 51 points in three quaters! nuff said! ;D ;D ;D

My fault. I didn't know that elbowing people in the face and dropping your shoulder into your defenders with the obvious intention of shoving them back three or four feet wasn't cheating... I understand that it's a "man's" game, although women do also play ( ). No harm, no foul. I understand all that. But if they're going to plead Shaq's case on national television, let it also be known that Shaq also commits several transgressions that do not get called. I never hear any of that. That's all I'm saying. ;D

His advantage is his strength. You can't take that away from him.Do you seeh how players lean on him all game long and swat him on every cut to the basket. Should he just take it or should he do what I did.....pick somebody out and waste one good ne on them and we can send a message. If i can't touch Michael don't touch Shaq. Problem is he woulds score 100 points if you don't play him physical. So the price you pay to stop him is deal with some punishment. He does a great job or retaining himself for the most part. Better than i did. As you can see I'm somebody different when I step between the lines. I 'm sorry but there are no 7ft 350lb women players who can dunk 400 times a season. So the comparison is null and void there! No disrespect to the woman's game at all. It doesn't fit here! We were fine until I brought the physical part into the equation. When I use what god gave me I'm a cheat? No way. My job is to get an advantage so I can win. If I find out you don't like contact....my job is done all ready before we play. Can't play scurrrrrrrrred! Can't play timid! Players police themselves! There is no more contact than at any other time since I played the game. You play defense with your feet....not you head and your hands....so if you stick it in there , it will get hit.!!!!

Shaq can keep his size. I'm not trying to take it. ;D
I don't have any control over what referees call and don't call. If you want to talk about how Mike "gets away with murder," then do all the touching you want. All I'm saying is, Shaq or any of those who want to protest how he's being done wrong shouldn't complain because it's a two way street. They cheat him, he cheats them. See?
I didn't say anything about big women playing. You said it was a man's game, and all I meant when I said that women also participate in the game was that women play and have been playing for years what you call a man's game. Now, the level of physicality is another subject (and one that I didn't broach).
When you use what God gave you in a way that is not in keeping with the rules your organization has set, then yes, I believe that you are.

IRLM.....very good and I agree with you. The only point is the last one. Anything I said is in keeping with the rules. When I cross the line and I did on a number of events, I was then fighting. That's the only time I crossed the line. It was because someone tried to or did hurt Dr. J. I'm wearing championship rings cause I didn't allow that to happen. So if I had to fight...I had to fight. It sounds crazy but is the way the game is played on our level. Iwas traded to the Nets because Dr J. was given two black eyes by Maurice Lucas and the Nets were swept out of the playoffs, My first action as a Net was to take him out and let him know those days were over and that's what I did. I'm not Foreman, frazier ot Ali, but I don't take no mess out there. There is too much money and fame riding on these games. But I was right up to the line every night though. ;D
See you watch Michael or Allen and I watched Oakley. Your power forward is the policeman on the court. If someone crosses the line then he will handle it. But if other teams find out your PF does not have any heart, then they will run over you. That's what I meant by police themselves.
Now I can't speak for the announcers cause if they never played the game they don't know what goes on every night. I don't really listen to their inane nonsense anyway, even though for 20 years I was one of them. That's why you need a former player to do color...so he can keep it real. Some announcers decry any flagrant fouls and want people suspended for life and then turn around the next day and if that same foul is committed by a star he likes, then it was an accident! ;D

in the case i was talking about, the announcer was stu lance, chick hearn's sidekick for 15 yrs and the current color man for the lakers with their new announcer, paul sunderland. they have been saying the same thing about shaq since he came over in 1996 from orlando. hack a shaq and then the zone defense.
some refs are touchy and want to establish some flow or control the tempo of the game so they call quick fouls. other times they let the little fouls go. it depends also if they are out of position or just a bad ref.

Okay, so we've gotten all of this straightened out. One more question...
So this line that you're talking about--how does one decide that it's been crossed? If he's having a bad day he can draw his own line and police that way. An unintentional tap could look like deliberate if he wants it to.
