Well, we all know what we look like now, we all know where we stand on whether or not Otis is the anti-Christ or Dennis is fat and Sukka will never let us forget where we all live. But do we know everything?
Did you know this about me.......
1. Until the age of five, I literally thought I was born inside of a Saturn V rocket
2. At approximately the same time, I decided to change my name to "Mindy", fortunately, especially for my parents, that was just a phase
3. I suffer from trichotillomania, but I've never been clinically diagnosed. My two best friends when I was growing up had the same condition.
4. my parents owned one of the first Ford Pintos sold in the United States
5. I came up with the title of my high school yearbook "The Fife and Drum." Pretty lame huh?
6. I have a piece of pencil lead logged in my hand. It's been there since the second grade
What about you?

Okay let's see...
1. In middle school, I was the only girl who dressed up on regular days. Some kids told me I looked like I was going to the "YMCA".
2. In the ninth grade, we had "70s day" during Homecoming Week and I dressed up as "Thelma" from "Good Times" and won the award for most original costume.
3. Until I was in the second grade, I didn't know how to hold a pencil correctly.
4. We had an eighth grade 60s talent show and me and two friends dressed up as the Supremes and sang "Stop! In the Name of Love!" Our costumes were long black dresses with glittery boleros from a consignment boutique.
5. I wrote a script (along with two other posters from the Dramatics board) called "From Doo Wop To Dramatic", a historical fiction script based loosely on the history of the Drams. Most of the guys in the group have read it.
6. I started cooking when I was 15, after I took a cooking class and liked creating recipes. After that, I cooked more often than my parents.

Drama, I *still* hold my pencil incorrectly!!!!! Here are some little known things about me. ;-) 1. When I was 2 1/2, I had one of my kidneys removed and the other repaired. I was a very sick little girl, but I have done very well with the one since then! (Except pregnancy was tough.) 2. When I was 3, I wanted to be an ice cream lady and drive my own truck. Then I decided I wanted to be an attorney instead when I was 5. Either way, it's a COLD life. ;D 3. I was a spelling bee geek in junior high. I won the Scripps Howard school bee and went to districts. I was lazy, though, and was out by the 5th round there. 4. I won the Harvest Festival pageant in my Senior Year (a local talent/scholarship pageant) and went to Colorado's Junior Miss pageant representing my town. 5. I was a DJ for 4 years. ;D 6. I sang lead for a cover band in college. (A heavy metal band, no less.......sad, but true.) ;D Peach

Uh... let's see
1. When I was just able to sit up by myself, my babysitter made chicken pot pies for me and my brother. Well, I was sitting right next to the stove and that's where she put the pies. So she went to get a glass of ice water right after she took them out of the oven and I stuck my hand in the middle of one of them! She dunked my hand in the water and took me to the hospital and for a LONG time I had to go to the hospital every day to get my skin and stuff cut off, and the doctors said that I wouldn't have more then 2 or 3 fingers on my hand and it would look REALLY messed up and if you were to look at my hands closely, you wouldn't know which hand it was because they're just fine!
2. When I was in the 2nd grade I was hit on the nose with the craw end side of a hammer by a fellow girl scout. And it was CLOSE too, I almost lot my right eye.
3. I cook ALL the time because I'm a vegetarian and the rest of my family isn't and I got tired of TV dinners every night. (and my parents are on the Atkins diet so all the really ever eat is meat!)
4. I saw a ghost when I was 5. I was staying at my grandma's house in Houston and I woke up and for whatever reason the blinds were open and this glowing lady was standing there with stringy hair, rotting skin, and no cartilage and lips. I SWEAR! And as a result, I didn't sleep by myself every night until I was 10 or 11. (I am a loser.) And during my 3rd grade year we lived in a HUGE house and I only slept in that house 1 night of the entire year we lived there. I cried myself to sleep EVERYNIGHT and made my mom check on me every ten minutes. I would just stare at my clock and if the minute changed and she wasn't there, I would freak out! ***BIG LOSER***
5. Pain is not a factor for me. I've broken many bones and it never hurts, so no one believes me when I say that somethings wrong with it. I went to school for a day with a broken arm and walked around on a broken ankle for 3 months before anyone checked it out. Now my parents just listen to me when I say something's wrong!
6. 27 is the coolest number in the world. It seriously is everywhere! Just start looking for it and you'll see what I mean!

I just typed all this stuff and it got erased!!! I'll typr it again though, I have nothing else to do Dbaby, dang girl, you inspire me! 1. When I was a little over a year old I fell face first into a glass table. (No marks or anything were left on my face). The only thing I had to get "fixed" was my middle finger which they put stitches in. I was too young to remember though, and I just found out about a year ago when I noticed I had some little marks on my finger 2. When I was about 5 I fell at the skating rink. When I fell, my hands were stretched out on the floor. A man came by and skated right over top of my hand and my whole (not half, not the tip, but whole) pinky nail came off. Luckily a new one takes its place today 3. I, like Peach, used to win class/grade/school spelling bees, but in elementary school. I, like Peach, got lazy once they started passing out the thick pamphlets of words and I didn't study as much as the other kids. I was out by the 4th round 4. When I was younger I was fascinated with contact lenses, so I cut a circle out of a plastic sandwich bag and stuck it in my eye (I wear clear contacts now (<<the real kind), I've always wondered if this had anything to do with it) 5. I have the sickle cell anemia trait (which doesn't effect me) 6. I have 2 degrees of scoliosis (which the doctor said was nothing to worry about) 7. 7 is my lucky number

Hmmm...
1. When I was 12, I at 22 pieces of pizza at a sleepover party... amazingly, I was quite full, but not sick at all. 2. Since all my siblings are 10+ years older than I, I looked at them as authority figures, and I thought, since I call my aunts and uncles by their titles, I should call my sibs "Brother X" and "Sister Y." I did this until I was about 12, when my sis finally said "babe, I'm not any authority figure to you, just call me by my name." It was so hard! 3. Because the next 3 youngest siblings in my family were all males, and by the time I was born all 3 of my sisters were out of the house, I thought only boys went to school. 4. I've had tubes in my ears um... 7 times so far. 5. The first smokey robinson song I ever liked was "Quiet Storm." 6. For about a year, I opted to sleep on the floor, because I had a chronic habit of falling out of bed. 7. In sixth grade, I wrote a "space constitution" and my constitution won, which meant astronaut Eugene Cernan came to our school and we had a pizza party! Neat! 8. My first church solo was "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" at our Church's Christmas program back in 1986. 9. I love pizza.

And to think I'm crazy about all you crazy people. I can't top any of those stories but when I think of them I'll post them. That was so long ago.
1. I told my second grade teacher to go to hell.
2 I beat up everybody in my third grade class cause my uncle lost the middle weight championship to Sugar Ray Robinson and they teased me about it.
3 During the President's Council on Physical Fitness Day because I was the biggest they made me go last so on the softball throw I threw the softball away.......lierally. Over the fence, down the street and into the woods.
4 My sixth grade teacher took my baseball glove from my brother and kept it. She had taken my duncan yo-yo earlier. So I went in her room told her if She didn't give me my glove back I would just have to take it. So I did right out of her drawer and took it home. I told her she could keep the yo-yo!
5 I hated basketball. I was drafted by the old Washington Senators out of HS.
6 I thought by now I would be driving a Tractor Trailer on long hauls!!
7 My uncle who lost the fight owned a movie theatre and that's where I was everyweekend all day all night. The theatre was the baby sitter!
8 I have broken: nose twice, both legs, elbow, eye socket and many teeth

LOL, I can see a young ABA gettin serious with that teacher Oh, I forgot to say that on the day before my 6th birthday, we went to the zoo. We went to go look at the ducks and animals in the swamp area. I tried to peek over the fence to get a better look but the fence was very unstable and I fell right over. I couldn't swim or anything. I thought I was gonna die. Luckily the gators weren't in the same swamp. ANd good thing I didn't try to get a good look at them! Ivory, by the way, I love this thread!

Peach and earthangel were talking about spelling bees, and I've only been in two, in fifth and eighth grades, and they were school-wide ones. I used to know how to spell, but I can't spell a lick these days. I saw the spell-checker and I appreciate that, because if I don't know how to spell something, I just change the word. ;D Let's see... little known 'me' facts. 1. I never knew "Kiss and Say Goodbye" was sung by a group (my ma told me a few months ago). 2. I used to think Rose Royce was a woman. 3. I can't say "asked." It sounds like "axed." I mean, if I try to say it right it always sounds like ,"ask-tu." Big emphasis on the 'K.' 4. When I was a kid, I used to feel left out because everyone had nicknames and I didn't. The only nickname I can remember having is 'Miss Kane." My cousin called me that, I guess because he had been watching soap operas. 5. Well, I have been called "English teacher" because I correct people's English sometimes. 6. I almost never wear shorts or skirts (unless I'm going to church) because I think my size 10 feet are too big for my height of 5'6 1/2". My cousin calls them "planks." 7. I don't like people with little feet. ;D 8. I don't like tall people. ;D 9. I have deep pockets and very short arms. I get something like an allergic reaction when I have to spend my own money; it's awful. 10. I've started my memoirs. Not because I think I'll become famous and don't want to waste time getting people my story, but because I think I'm losing my memory and want to write everything down before I forget. 11. My mother thinks I'm a hypochondriac. Seriously, can I help it if I happen to have symptoms of some major diseases and disorders? I've thought I had Parkinsons, Alzheimer's, diabetes, glaucoma, etc. 12. I played basketball in 8th grade (rode the pine) and half of 9th grade. I actually played this time around, thought I had some potential and everything (coach said so). He put me off the team for reasons still unknown to me.

What is amazing me is all the things we all have in common. Nish, if I ever meet you in person, I know what we're eating!!!! Do you have the same philosophy I have? "I've never eaten a pizza I didn't like." Whether it's gourmet or frozen, it's all yummy to me!!! It's like, well, you know, that other thing they say there's no bad version of. Here's some more........ 1. How many of you knew your great grandparents? Not me. My great-grandfather fought in the Civil War. Think about it, that's pretty wild. He was born in 1854, his daughter, my grandmother was born in 1906, my mother, her daughter, was born in 1946 and I was born in 1973. My great grandfather was almost one hundred and twenty years older than me. 2. I do not know how to do any of the following..... whistle, ride a bike, or swim. However I can take a computer apart and put it back together. I didn't get out much as a kid. 3. My one great talent is to be able to talk in this really funny voice. It's something I'm famous for in my non-Internet life. As a matter of fact, y'all are missing out on a BIG aspect of my personality not being able to hear it.

Nope. Except you, 'cause you're SPEH-SHUL!! And my brother. He's 6'6". I don't know my great-grandparents either, Ivory. I'm not too familiar with my father's family, but I do know that my father's grandmother is still alive, but with Alzheimer's. My mother's maternal grandmother died in 1981 and her grandfather died in the 70s. She doesn't talk about her paternal side much. As a matter of fact, I just found out that one of her first cousins on her father's side was my cultural anthropology instructor for last semester. I was 5 when I learned how to tie my shoes. I taught my brother. We were both a little older by that time. I've been told that I started walking when I was 7 months old. I can't remember so I can't say for sure. My ma said I rolled over and fell between the bed and the wall (but not onto the floor) when I was two days old. I can't remember that incident either. No one in my family has a singing talent, which I think is so odd. Not ONE of us!
