No question. You rarely saw him anywhere but onstage or in the dressing room. I think he was a room service guy too.

On the subject of Richard singing "My Girl". Remember the video? The "My Girl" video for the the movie "My Girl" with McCauley Culkin? It seemed to me that the video accented Ali's bid to emulate David, even if it was, just for this particular session. There's no denying that the powers wanted to "bring back" the 60s "My Girl" magic with the soundtrack for this movie. Doesn't Ali even wear glasses in this video?

Yes he does, now in all seriousness, I did take THAT as a direct attempt to copy Ruffin (or pay tribute to him anyway.) But not poor little Bo and his glasses. Come on Mike, the man's just a little near-sighted ........... or something. Anyway, you better start being nice to him or I'll sick seafan and Kalisa, the self-appointed biggest Bo defenders on this board after you!

I didn't see the video but the movie has the David version of MY GiRl in the soundtrack.
I was looking at the Harrah's video and add I wish It Would Rain to Richard'(Kim)s resume. I still say that even then when Dennis was on his last legs with the group he as professional as they come. What a great looking and sounding leading man. I always watch the so called lead singers when they are relegated to background and you get the true picture of how much they enjoy what they do. David and Dennis as well as Eddie took pride in working the background. You know Otis and Melvin did cause that was pretty much their role anyway. And Paul.....what can you say, he was the man back there. I can't say for sure but I'm going on the fact that it doesn't stand out to me that Ali didn't derive the same enjoyment out of singing background as the others. You also have to take into account he can really dance and Melvin wasn't moving as well then and they had toned down the steps to accomodate his illness.
I was watching footage of them(HOF) singing YOU'VE MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY and it appeared to me they tried to incorporate some type of broadway show style dancing with their cover of the song. I liked the version although they were in their everybody gets a line phase and it took something away from the flow. Otis sounded real good on his line.
SS this is for you and me. Was there anybody ever at Motown that was any prettier than Ms. Brenda Holloway? Oh my goodness she was as fine as a georgia pine. When I'm Gone and You've Made Me So Very Happy, along with Just Look What You'Have Done used to cook my grease for me, baby.

Richard had many leads in the show. Woodson was ego-man. I didn't like his lead on My Girl ,I didn't like Richard's lead either what can you do? As far as Bo's glasses,he just got vision trouble when he became a Tempt? Ivory ,those two LOVELY LADIES wouldn't hurt me ! They know that I LOVE them and they know where I'm coming from ! Kim,ain't nobody pickin' on you ! You hold your own VERY WELL! Say what's on your mind! And listen to others who are trying to do the same ! Can I hear an "AMEN" Janebse ?

Hey Mike, when Ali was flashing his ego on stage in a serious moment he could sing My Girl pretty well. The problem was you just didn't see that side of him all the time.

Mike I'm getting a vibe that you don't really care for Ali am I correct on that? Anyway I am still trying to remember if Richard sang the lead on "My Girl" when I saw him in concert. I guess I need to take some Ginkoba! ;D
