No, strangely enough he called and asked me. ;D No, I'm just trying to pin down dates when we KNOW Theo was in the group. I'm not saying Tempfan is wrong, but I'm not saying Richard is wrong either. Well, you told ME I was wrong when I quoted Richard

where? LOL, a long time ago before I knew you, my first contact with you was to email you and tell you that your "Temps Members" Chart was askew because Richard said he left after melvin died because it wasn't fun anymore (you've posted that article). So now you won't tell Dcalz or Tempfan they are wrong (but one of them obviously IS incorrect) but you didn't have any problem telling me *I* was mistaken...hmmmph

(((Kalisa))) I think the video we have of Richard performing with DAVID SEA and the Review (without Dennis) helps support Tempfan’s dates. As I know for a FACT that David left in 1993.

Now story has it that Richard left the group for reasons other than Melvin. It'll be interesting to read his book to see what he says ................

Richard and Theo were definitely in the group at the same time. I believe that the lineup at the time was, Otis, Ron, Melvin (not on the road), Richard and Theo. It was during an Ali Woodson hiatus, because there was definitely some controversey when Otis took My Girl away from Rich and gave it to Theo. I am pretty positive that this was the case at the end of Rich's tenure, but he was in until at least 94. that would have been when Ali was out with the alleged sore throat for two weeks or more.............when he tried toreturn after singing in a LA night club.....Otis fired him.......

Since i feel i have to defend myself here goes. First off Richard had My Girl taken from him in 1991 before leaving the group when "My Girl" was re released as a single to go with the movie of the same name. It started with the recording of the video in which Ali sings lead half way through the song. Theo didn't start singing it until Ali left the group. Theo Joined the group in December of 1992 taking over for Richard on a tour of Japan. The tour ran from December 18-24. For more info on this tour. www3.airnet.ne.jp/junco/Ali-e/japantour/92.htmlI then attended the New Years Eve Dec. 31 1992 show in San Francisco (have photos with Theo in the group!) There was also a TV interview done that day with the group with Theo as the new member. I remember it because i was shocked to see that i was going to see a new member and not Richard. (Don't remember if i recorded tv spot) That night Theo even helped Ali with the Motown Song which they were doing in concert at the time. In 93 i saw the group 3 times (Ali, Theo, Ron, Otis, and Melvin) and once in 94 same except no Melvin who was ill like i said all concerts featured Theo doing "I will always love you" Also in 94 group recorded EOS songs early in year as set was released in Sept of 94 to go with star on walk of fame which Theo attended. End of year Sept to Dec they recorded songs for Berry Gordy album and Motown comes home album. Saw them in April 1995 Ray was in Group by then and they ended concert with an Tear Jerking Encore of Broken Pieces with Ray adding Melvins name in the spoken intro and Ali & Theo singing even better than on the CD version. It was not until 96 that Ali left the group after Harry joined here's a photo of Ali Theo Ron Otis Harry www.ckponline.com/Temptations.jpg The first time i saw them without Ali was July 96. Richard after leaving The Temps took Dennis place in his group which was an offspring of Edwards, Ruffin, Kendricks as i stated and as David Sea Fan has verified (Hi DSF!) So unless Richard did some one shot deal he was not with the group after 92.

Thank you, Tempfan. I never doubted you.
And a special thanks for that picture of Harry, Otis, Theo, Ron and Ali.
Oh, my goodness. They look so handsome in that picture. I just looked at it and thought, "WOW!"

No need to defend yourself Tempfan. I'm not saying ANYONE here is wrong ............ I only say that to Mikey, and he's not on this thread. ;D But congratulations to all of you, you have successfully managed to give me a headache. .......... Richard was out, then he was in and then he was back out and then Ali (not the boxer) was lying about having a sore throat, then Richard and Theo were in at the same time and then Ali was back in and this time it was with Al Bryant and Ricky Owens!!!! Sheesh .......... yeah. My head hurts. :shocked

I am pretty positive that this was the case at the end of Rich's tenure, but he was in until at least 94. Hokay, Dcalz...with all due respect, Ali performed with the Temptations on a foreign tour (Japan?) in 2001 or 2002 because Bo had passport problems. So does Ali count his tenure with the group through whichever year that was? Nope. Same with Richard, if he was filling in for Ali. Theo replaced Richard. Richard was 'officially' out of the group when Theo replaced him (whether he was fired or quit or left by mutual consent, which I'm not sure of either). If Richard filled in for Ali after that, it still doesn't work (for me at least) to count that as part of his tenure with the group as an official Temptation. THANKS, Tempfan. I'm printing up your rundown, for next time I get confused about this issue (it happens regularly around here)
