The combination og Glenn, Dennis, Melvin Otis and Richard was tight! Absolutely.

...and I still have to keep asking myself the question "What if Glenn had been first?" in the Tempts... What if he had had the Smokey songs and the promotion that Motown was giving the Tempts at the beginning? Would Eddie have been patterning himself after Glenn, given the switch?
yes, Eddie had that little crack, and that adorable accent... I love Eddie! Glenn had (and still has) that purity and ease of range that is just astounding...
IMO, Glenn didn't get the songs, nor did the Tempts get the promotion, during the time Glenn was with them... but he is right up there, and its purely a matter of what you like, as to "Who is best?" ... but to me its only between Glenn and Eddie in that position. Not that the others are bad ... but those two, to me, are the best of the best in the high tenor/roaming tenor/falsetto range..

I think in that case, Glenn would have allowed himself a crack or two in his voice, too. Without any doubt, he, and all the others who came after Eddie, had to work extra hard to be even considered worthwhile to be Eddie's successors. Not that they weren't as good as singers as Eddie was -- but Eddie's overall appearance was hard to match, in my opinion.

Glenn's voice is pitch perfect and crystal clear...........I don't need material to know if a person can sing....................he can sing the alphabet and you should be able to tell if the man can sing..............that being said, GLenn will tell you it was Eddie who he patterned himself after just as Ron did and Damon as well. Eddie was clearly the man but Glenn had the goods and when he sang Eddie's songs he sang em' better than any other Temp who had the position. I've never heard Glenn sing "Can I" or ".....Johnny Mae". I read from fans that he did these songs justice. I can't wait to hear him. Right now i'm listening to "Happy Landing".T's a cross between his natural voice and high tenor. I think this song is, among others, one of the purest seldom heard songs i've heard Eddie lead. -Nate "Boomer"

Hold on. NO way , no how, no chance . My Eddie is the best!!!!! After Eddie, Ron is next. By the way, I think Eddie could have done Silent Night beautifully.

I must add that I do think Glenn is very good also, but Eddie is king in my eyes.

Yeah, but we have to thank whomever aranged the song the way it was on "Give Love." I was thinking the other day about how Eddie would have sounded on that arrangement. He kicks natural hind end on "My Christmas Tree" though.
But as far as I'm concerned, Glenn will always be "The Christmas Temptation."

The Xmas music is basically unknown to me, except for what I've heard in the stores. ...get ready...
