Eddie first because he set the standard, Ron second because of the smooth vocal qualities, Glenn next, because of his intonation and enunciation, lastly Damon.

Before Eddie, everyone seemed to have that "Twang" or "Siren" type sound in their voices. You know, ala Maurice and The Zodiacs, The Dells, Franki Valli etc (even Eddie himself in "Paradise"). When the C5 ran off that long streak of songs with Eddie leading and became successful, every group had a tenor who was trying for that EJK sound. So Eddie by far is the Man!!!! -Nate "Boomer"

Glenn's voice is pitch perfect and crystal clear...........I don't need material to know if a person can sing....................he can sing the alphabet and you should be able to tell if the man can sing..............that being said, GLenn will tell you it was Eddie who he patterned himself after just as Ron did and Damon as well. Eddie was clearly the man but Glenn had the goods and when he sang Eddie's songs he sang em' better than any other Temp who had the position.

I think that Glenn's voice is almost too flawless; at least on the recordings I've heard so far. I love an occasional crack. Such things make a voice more real to me ...

That certainly explains your attachment to Mr. Ruffin. I personally prefer Glenn...his voice is, like ABA said, pure and clear. Even in his earliest recordings, Eddie's voice did not sound as clean as Glenn's. Glenn's voice sounded more "comfortable" in falsetto than Eddie's, especially when Eddie got a little older.

Yes, McRibs, you are 100% right! I love emotions to show through a presentation ... and some voices, as perfect as they are -- just seem sterile. You know, they have the appearance of cold perfection. Eddie's voice, by the way, showed some imperfections, too. It only made him more adorable, in my opinion. But that's just a matter of taste, I guess.

And good taste it is! Nevertheless, I like Glenn's voice. It is really as clear as crystal. Last Friday Maurice Watts played him and Melvin and Dennis singing together. Aw ... what a great combination of voices. :inlove
