If you change one scene in the movie, which scene would you change and what changes would you make?

I would have changed it at the end, to somewhat to like what they did in "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?" where they showed the REAL Frankie and the Teenagers...it took me forever to find some REAL Tempts footage after becoming obsessed by the Movie . A cleaned up "Teen Town" (see Theater) "My Girl" would have been perfect! I also would have... oh nevermind you said one...well I'd still make it more accurate showing that Dennis David and Eddie did NOT tour together until after the HOF induction ...while its a great scene with Ball of Confusion playing, it still leaves those who don't pursue their interest further thinking the wrong thing... that bothers me.

But it is a good scene for a fiction movie! ;D ... I myslef woulda changed the scene with david saying "AND THE SNAP SNAP WHAT THEY NAMES? ... It seemed as though david didn't care about the tempts ... ;D

I agree with curet. I understand why they did it that way, but I think it's unfortunate that Richard got slighted like that. ........... I would also change the end so that no one dies.

OK, let me in on it since I don't understand "why they did it that way", showing Al on lead when he didn't...and slighting Richard. I like your ending

I to would have love to have seen a split screen with the actor portraying the Classic Five with real footage of the Classic Five. However, there is one thing that I would really enjoying seeing and that is a documentary giving a true and accurate depiction from the beginning to the current line-up.

Because Al's character had a more important role in the movie. It just made for a better story line. Same reason they did everything else.

If one scene's all I get, then we're definitely going to have to change the dialogue around Mama Rose's dinner table.
In my version, David tells the TRUTH about his birth mother dying and his step-mother being a respected school teacher. Leaving home at the age of thirteen and singing in various gospel groups before making his way to Motown is a fascinating tale in and of itself.
There's no reason to manufacture a horrible story about a "pimp" bringing out his "strap." Then again, including a positive story about Ruffin would've seemed out of place in this film.
It brought me here, though, and compelled me to learn all I can about the Classic 5 lineup, so I have to give credit where it's due. That scene stills aggravates the hell out of me, though.
PS. I agree that actual footage of the Ruffin/Kendricks/Williams/Franklin/Williams lineup performing would've been a GREAT ending. I have no complaints about the actors' performances in the closing scene, but the real thing would've lit up the screen.

Let's also not forget that the actor who played Richard doesn't sing and Chazz Lamar-Shepherd, who played Al, has the best singing voice of any of the actors by a wide margin... Ed

Beej...while I totally agree that the dialog about his Mama and the Pimp was gratuitous, the fact remains David was abused as a child, by his own father. I don't know why it was changed to a pimp with a strap, but I felt that was put in there to try to help explain some of David's rebellion against rules and perhaps some of his later life choices as a victim of abuse, not to be negative about David. That and the "for the first time I'm part of something that's completely right" scenes were the main ones showing David in a sympathetic light, to me. But they could have left out the 'Mama and the Pimp' part, just told the truth.

I hadn't heard that. I know Terron Brooks has a solo CD, and has been praised highly for his range, and I thought Christian did an awesome job with Paul's stuff. I never saw anywhere anybody talking about Chazz's singing...
