I honestly believed all of them did.........but when limits are set on as an artist......somethings gotta give.....if Otis was smart he would have let them do solo projects.....and be more involved in the writing...things would have probably turned out different

Yes Cheech, I agree.
But Melvin, it seems to me, was the one who exercised the utmost self-control; he must have had a strong "sense of self" (I don't talk ego, here) to emerge from the group's in-fighting with an image as unscathed as his still is.

concerning the scene before paul's death... i don't know where i read this at and how true it is but... it was said that he had come home from work.. his girlfriend had some friends over partayin.. he was mad and quickly left.. and he was found later. Hold up...I know I'm like 4 days late, but anyway, Paul...had a girlfriend? Wasn't he still married? hmmm...interesting...

That movie is so misleading.......it's almost hard to take seriously.......Got Melvin lookin' like a yes boy.....Got David lookin' like a fool.......Got Paul lookin' like a drunk......Got Eddie lookin' like he just abandon the group....and then there's Otis......so squeaky clean......however each member had his share of problems.....but there was no balance in it......he should of added why these men left......and why they resorted to some of the things they did.........Melvin lived for being a Temptation, not for Otis I'm sorry i just had to get that off my chest....people sware by this movie and Otis's book.....and alot of that stuff is misleading SURE IS ! I thought I was the only one that noticed!

I'm pretty sure Paul did. He is the true Temptations. Otis said it himself. A picture is worth a thousand words, movie, also!

I've heard Otis on exactly three songs and, while he sounds okay, his voice certainly doesn't have much presence. It just kinda lays there. On "I Ain't Got Nothin'", he's barely there - though he sounds the best there. On "Darling, Stand By Me", he sounds truly awful, but that's not his fault. The producer apparently thought he'd sound best double-tracked. WRONG. On "Don't Send Me Away", he goes flat on more than one occasion. The question on that one is why they didn't fix those errors before they released the track. His voice may very well be better suited to doo-wop than to R&B. I sense that this might be the case. Oh well, water over the bridge now, huh?.. Ed

I would agree that his voice isn't knock out, but I do believe that had he taken more solos, he could have sung much better and maybe sung alot of very sweet and endearing songs in the still of Perry Como or Tony Bennett.
