that scene was deep. I hoently don't think they made eddie manly enough. he kinda seemed like a punk. I wonder why. I guess they wanted to give hin a certain literary persons which would go well with the construct of the movie.

No Pimpy, don't make excuses for them, they did make Eddie look like a sissy! My mom always gets frustrated with Eddie when she watches the movie cause she feels he's so soft. I just try to convince her it's the movie that made him seem like a punk. They didn't have to make Eddie such a creampuff. Blu either

Otis may have tried to make Eddie look bad! But,From the very beginning, Eddie stood up to Al; He stood firm about the name of the Group; He stood by David @ the bus scene down south;(while Otis took off for the bus); and covered for David @ the meeting with Shelly Burger! Then(UhHo; "Ain't To Proud to Beg" just came on the Radio!) He also showed His Dedication to The Group, being the only One to vote for David staying! And as sad as it was, He stood by Paul with His illness! Maybe that"s He said "Melvin, You used to have a Soul!" I believe that when Otis went behind His back when He booked Them @ The Copa that He truly & deeply was Hurt! Otis couldn't Hold a Candle to Eddie's devotion to the Group, or the talent of The Other Members! Eddie had a Good Heart & Soul! His talent can not be surpassed! I think Otis was very Jealous of that! It's very sad that none of The Other Members would take the Time to help David & Paul! I know it wasn't a subject to advertise @ that time, but Rehab was available! Why didn't They consider It???

Rehab may have been available but not in a way that it has become today. People didn't look at drugs and alcohol as a sickness back then. As a matter of fact, not much was made of people who drank too much at all. It was more acceptable in society then. They thought that ytou could stop doing drugs anytime you wanted and the only addicitive drug was heroin.
Eddie may have been a leader of the Temptations and certainly spoke his mind but he did not appear to me to be the vocal leader of the group. Early on the spokeman for the group was Paul. When he could no longer do it it fell the Melvin which he was until he died.

I must say, it almost tore me up when paul kissed his children goodbye. Not even David's desperate promises that he was clean and wanted to get back into the group could rival that scene. I wonder how Paul's family is faring these days. I wish them all the best,

:(Eddie was always known to be "A Quiet Man"; He thought & observed before He Spoke! His devotion & love for His fellow Group Members was evident! It was hard for Him to leave The Group! I will always Respect & Love Him for speaking His Mind & Defending David & Paul! Oh!(Get Ready just came on! And a Twin Spin-Ain't Too Proud To Beg! on the Radio!) (By now, I guess You know I can't help doing that!) I loved the way He put Otis in His Place in the Hospital Scene in the Movie :DYou have to respect A Man with that much Integrity!

I don't think the movie make Eddie seem soft, just very sensitive and extremely loyal.

Yes, it really irks me that when a man is sensitive and caring, he has to be perceived as being soft or being a punk.
Give me a sensitive man anyday!
Besides, I think it was more of Terron being Terron than Terron being Eddie. Do you know what I mean?

Yes! But Terron played Eddie So Well! In reality, I think that they may be A Lot Alike! BTW, I don't know what that (e-mail) thing is, I probably pushed a wrong key; again!

I think there are plenty of them around who try very hard to hide their sensitivity, because it's us women who adore the machos so much. I know I am guilty of it ... especially when it comes to DR. I married a man, however, who's just the opposite ... and he's still my #s 1 - 10.
