Melvin's death and then Paul's suicide. Both hurt me a lot.

From the time "Otis" learns about "Lamonte's" death I just cry non-stop until the credits but by far the saddest part is Melvin's funeral. I sob like a baby.
As a matter of fact that's why I'm here. I knew nothing about the group until the movie and was disturbed by Melvin's death that I woke up in the middle of the night and had to find out as much as I can on the Tempts via the Internet.
The rest is history.

Melvin's death and then Paul's suicide. Both hurt me a lot. those two, and when Melvin tells Otis about his son's death

Melvin's funeral is probably where I cried the most. oh yeah, when Smokeys singing, and their showing clips of Blu in the movie, gets me everytime too, when they show him smile... that part does it

Mine would have to be Terron (Eddie) standing at Paul's gravesite and Blue comes up to comfort him. Maybe it's because I love Terron, because Melvin's funeral with Smokey singing was pretty sad, as was Melvin telling Otis that his son died. I love the part when Otis says "so what you're telling me is that my son is gone" and Blue is so choked up he just kind of looks away, holding back his tears and couldn't answer him. But Paul's suicide scene is really sad. I love them singing "Papa," but that scene is so hard to watch.

paul's death? it seemed to be the whole falling apart of the group. and plus it was paul's death. that part hurt my soul. Oh yea...that's definately the scene that HURTS the most. Paul at the piano, Melvin's death, Lamont's death, Paul dancing for "Big Mr. Otis" to prove that he still has it, all those are sad. I also agree with Ebony, cause I was gonna say something about that exact same scene. It's sad to hear Eddie tell Blu he'll "see him around", as if they were from some time long ago who probably won't see much of each other every again

It's hard to remember the *first* time I watched it... because that would be when I cried the hardest. Each time after... I cry less only because it's not a surprise. When I first watched it, my knowledge of the Temptations' history was vague. I knew Eddie and David were gone... I knew Paul had committed suicide, but I didn't know what year or whether he was still in the group when it happened. But I didn't know that Melvin was gone because it was the most recent death. So when Melvin wheeled his wheelchair into the kitchen and didn't come right back, I was devastated. I remember thinking, "Oh my God..... not him. This is too much to bear." Then Smokey singing right after... I was a mess.

When Melvin tells Otis about Lamont's death... the part that makes me cry is when Mel tells him "I'm right here, O... right by your side". Even though many find so much fault with Otis... I know that he loved Blu... and I KNOW how much he misses Melvin being by his side. :crying
