war is hell, to be sure, and much bloodshed has happened in the last few weeks although nothing like could've happened. what the great news to the world is
that in spite of all the naysayers and detractors of us and our being there, THE IRAQI PEOPLE ARE SO HAPPY TO BE SEPERATED FROM THAT TYRANT SADDAM! DID YOU SEE IN THE LAST 2 DAYS HOW THEY HUGGED AND SHOOK HANDS WITH THE BRITISH IN BASRAH , AND ALSO HOW THEY TOPPLED THAT 40 FOOT STATUE IN BAGHDAD? THE FREEDOMS WE ENJOY HERE IN THE U.S.A. ARE NOT ENJOYED IN MANY OTHER COUNTRIES. TO BE RID OF A TORTUROUS REGIME AND OPPRESSION MAKES IT SPECIAL TO SEE THOSE POOR PEOPLE'S TEARS OF JOY.

Sukka, don't you think if someone came in and "decapitated" our leadership there'd be a bunch of folks celebrating and just like the Iraqi's are? I don't say that to say that our government should be offed, but just because we see some Iraq's celebrating it doesn't mean that "the Iraqi people are happy." Did you see those grown men crying like babies when their loved ones were killed in the bunker attack? Do you think THEY'RE happy?

Right now I'm just concerned about the POW's. I think if they were still alive, they would have been rescued by now.

of course there would be folks crying over lost loved ones. but the majority of the iraqis are happy. yes, a few of our folks here would be happy to see our govt. destroyed, but not the vast majority.

freedom came in 1783 after lots of bloodshed, sacrifice,
and loss of life. the british were defeated at a terrible cost. to preserve it again from the british empire there was a terrible price paid in the war of 1814.
then our very nation fought brother to brother in a horrific war as the south had to be defeated for the black man to start his long arduous road to freedom, even though it was declared, situations didn't change overnight. then in 2 world wars we lost millions due to
horrible atrocities caused by ruthless dictators who sought to conquer people and take away freedom.

it is extremely important to have differing opinions and the right to voice them without fear of retribution.
that's why freedom to choose is so precious. you certainly have the right to formulate your own ideas and thoughts, and i support your right.

i know that if you went over there or many other countries, you'd not be allowed to listen to the temptations, voice your opinion if it was contrary to the powers that be or do the things you like to do right now.

let's agree to pray for an end to war, a swift return for our troops, and a peace and stability in the region, and democratic elections for the iraqis to choose their own leaders.

And what does everyone think has become of Hussein himself? I think we'll never learn for certain what happened to him. It will be one of those unsolved mysteries, like Jimmy Hoffa or Judge Krater. He's most likely dead, but we'll never have absolute proof.

Unbelieveable!!!! ........... I sleep with the "war show" on, and woke up at 5am with the announcement that "someone" had been found, they just didn't know if it was the POW's or the MIA's. I almost got up and wanted to post and call folks then! But I wanted to know for sure who it was. Of course it would have been wonderful if anyone had been found, but I cried later this morning when I learned that Shoshana Johnson had been confirmed as one of the ones recovered. I have a "cousin" who is a single mother in the military that reminds me of her, and so I related to her the most out of the group. And of course there are the simmilarities between her and Kiki.

Plus my heart went out too her so. She looked so scared in that photo and I knew she must have never imagined she could get into something like that with the job she had. Of course there are the natural fears of what MIGHT happen to a female prisoner of war and as a woman, I feared for that as well (and I still hope that never happened.) So I was just sick thinking they must all be dead. I didn't figure there were any Iraqi's left to keep them prisoner and they must have been killed long ago. But fortunately, I was only HALF correct.

Let's all pray that the MIA's are also found safe and sound!
