Tempts at the Belterra Resorts, Indiana. Posted by "Melody" at The Temptations Concert Review board.... Hey (((((((((((((((((TEMPTATIONS FANS))))))))))))))))))! Shout outs to everybody!!!
Well, I didn't believe I was going until I was actually there, I had the Pleasure of seeing the Tempts for my "Getting Another In - Hey Now" concert this past Friday at the Belterra Resorts in Ind. It's a very Elegant venue to me. It was supposed to be general admission, but when we came in there were a lot of reserved seats, but since we had gotten into the line before 7:00 p.m., so we were able to get the 10th row which was pretty close. We were still able to see well.
On Barrington's QT I said that the suits were carmel, but when I think about it now, I think it was more of a rust color with black shirts. The color makes me think of the color they wore on the PBS Special.
I Love the Temptations' concerts so much. Just knowing the Excitement of them coming on the stage made me sceam while the music is playing before the Tempts started with the AWESOME AWESOME intro. I just Love it hearing that live. I call all the guys' names out.
The Tempts sang the Classics, "Stay", "Standing On The Top", "Treat Her Like A Lady", and "4 Days". We were treated to both "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Ol Man River". For some reason "Enchanted" was the Best I've ever heard it. Terry go down. It's like I heard the words and saw the dance movments with the background vocals clearer. That's the only way I can describe it. I was more prepared for "Ol Man River" this time. I think because it was in a different place in the concert and fast music didn't follow it immediately. Oh "Ol Man River" is a highlight that shows that the Tempts' harmony is still tight to me. Harry cried at the end of the song, so the Tempts teased him by singing "Oh Harry don't you weep. Oh Harry don't you moan." LOL!! It was different to see. LOL!! The Tempts did the "My Girl" fan section too.

Good review. I just love Bo's new haircut and less facial hair. He look so much younger. I could go on and on with the improvements. The more I look at Ellen's pictures, the handsomer he becomes.
I think the reviewer or another one mentioned they did the audience participation segment with "My Girl" although it had been left out of a recent concert.
With both "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Ol' Man River," it must have been a full concert. Very interesting. I wish they'd sing another song from FOR LOVERS ONLY besides "Some Enchanted Evening." I would just like to hear a variety of songs, and they had so many good ones in that album.
I think it would be interesting if they did a "The Temptations do Country," "The Temptations do Latino Music," The Temptations do the Polka" The Temptations do Opera." Paul said they used to sing opera when they were just singing by themselves.
I was also intrigued by Melody's reference to "tight harmony." Would that be a Temptation trademark?

LOL! And if they DID do country, I've got all the songs picked out for them.... "Daddy Sang Bass" "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine" "Delta Dawn" (a duet with me ) "Sweet Home Alabama," (Well, that's not country but it's close) Y'all want me to go on? ;D

I know someone who has two dogs, BIG dogs, and they named one Delta and the other one Dawn. I wonder what influenced them?

Here's a report from Creamy/Aleene, one of the AC going-gang who saw the Tempts' shows this weekend (posted on the RonTyson.com concert review board) ..... First I would like to say damnnnnnnnn what three days in AC! Didn't want for it to end. Friday night I had the best seats in the theater. In the Harry Zone! Right smack dab in front of his mic with my mini skirt on! LOL! Well the guys had on their serbert suits and white accessories. Bo still has his fro and winning smile. Terry voice was out of sight! Had the women dancing when he glided down the stage. Ron was the smooth as ever winking and smiling from the stage. Otis was fooling around on the stage flirting with the Scandalous Woman. And then it was Mr. Boom Boom himself. The smile, the facial expressions, the flirting and the moves he does were breathe taking. Of course Harry sang Ole man river on Friday. He gets so emotional after singing the song, but there was no teasing from the other guys. It was one of the guitar players birthday and we shouted out happy birthday to Kerry and Bo announced that it was his grandmother's 87th birthday and she stood. Grandmom was something else! The other songs were , One Enchanting Evening, Can't get next to you, Cloud nine, I wish it would rain, My Girl. I can't remember anymore, but on the other nights they did Four Days. Otis announce they are doing a new CD and putting together a new show for next year! More to come....
Saturday night I was again in the Harry zone, my heart just can't take it! LOL! They came out in gold colored jackets and white pants. The shoes were white. They love their silver jewlry(sp) but I did notice Otis had on some gold too! I love the way they do the Awesome Intro! I must say Ron is a great Emcee. This time the audience was really into the show. Women dancing everyone singing and dancing when Ron asked us to stand. Sunday night we had the pleasure of sitting with Harry's wife during the show. Otis teased Harry and his wife about the credit card and his limit (200.00) His wife sat between me and Ellen, after the show she asked us our names and where we were from. She was very nice and we all had a blast during the show. They guys had on the green Jackets and black pants and zebra striped hankies. Ohhhhhhhhhh they looked as dashing! Even though I heard the songs three nights in the row the performance that night was just as exciting the other nights! www.quicktopic.com/8/H/ETuhkUqAznqC

Here's another one, posted by Ellen on the RonTyson.com Concert Review Board........ www.quicktopic.com/8/H/ETuhkUqAznqCOK. Ladies and Gents....I'm back in da aw-fiss and ooooo...did I have a terrific weekend in AC....the fellas were on their game fa ree-yull....:OD :OD :OD :OD :OD
Let's being with Friday nigbt - Our delightful, delectable and totally divine Temptin' Temptations were sensational from start to finish. They were a vision - think parfait perfection, if you will, in parfait-colored suits...Otis in pale pink (lookin' good as usual); Terry in light blue, Harry in orange/peach, Ron in soft yellow and Bo in ivory (and still sportin' that 'fro). Too bad we couldn't get big ole tall dessert glasses and put 'em each in one and then holla "DESSERT!!!!" If anyone wanted to know what da flavas would be, we would call 'em Temptations Perfection Parfait and label the flavas like this...Otis would be Strawberry Parfait, Ron would be Banana Parfait, Terry would be Blueberry Parfait, Harry would be Orange/Peach Parfait, and Bo would be Lemon Parfait.....everygody got their spoons ready? Of course, we will have fudge on da side fuh dippin....jes becuzzz....jes kiddin'....although some folks might get serious (I ain't sayin' who nah or why)....:OD :OD :OD :OD :OD
They sounded terrific...from the AWESOME intro to MY GIRL at the very end and OLE MAN RIVER (Harry did a fantastic job as usual) and SOME ENCHANTED EVENING in da middle....they left no stone unturned and had everyone up and dancin' along with them. Terry had the ladies swoonin' and when he held one ladies hand, I swear, gurlfren was shakin' like the holy ghost came over her.....I was thankful the chile made it back to that seat of hers...cuz I thought we'd hafta call 911....I guess we'll hafta ask Alleene if she can loan a sista some Saran Wrap for her hand...you got any of that Saran Wrap available to hep the sista out??? :OD :OD :OD :OD :OD
The crowds were very responsive and enthusiastic...they took time out also to wish their bass player, Kerry Turman, a happy birthday and Ron Tyson was the perfect comedian/MC as usual.....it's so much fun to sit and watch (even through the camera lens) these men entertain the audience...and honey, AIN'T NOTHIN LIKE A FRONT ROW SEAT TO SEE SUCH FOINE, LOVELY CHOCO-LIT MALE PULCHRITUDE.....you don't want balcony seats fuh dis kind of thing, NO SIR...gotta be as close as you can...:OD :OD :OD :OD :OD
Bo introduced his grandmother from the stage and dedicated MY GIRL to her, which was sweet. ...........

(Continued from above) SATURDAY.....we were treated to an even livelier show than Friday night (Ron said it was Sata-day Nite Live fa shur up in theah)...the fellas stepped out in long silk dupioni jackets that were a peachy brown color with a golden tint to it...with white shirts and pants and black belts that looked to have a "T" on the buckle....they looked lean and mean and were even more energetic than Friday night, if you can picture that!! Instead of OLE MAN RIVER, we were treated to FOUR DAYS, which TURBO TERRY WEEKS just worked to death....the ladies, whose hands he reached out an touched, were just beside themselves with joy and rapture at having touched by Turbo Terry as he sang to them...ham mussy.....and Mr. Weeks had plenty of "dip in his hips, cut in his strut and glide in his stride (with apologies to the late Frankie Crocker, from whom I stole this line...:OD)...he is so fluid, it's almost a crime....:OD :OD :OD :OD :OD Some fans were SOOOO ENTHUSED that it prompted Otis to comment on their "scandalous" behav-yuh....I ain't namin' names...I'm jes sayin' thassall...but believe me, we all had a great time, and there was no shame in anybodeh's game..we came out to have a good time and be entertained and we did and we were....and the horn section (or, as Mr. Tyson called 'em - DA HORNEH HORNS) were just as much a part of the show as evah...sangin' along "Who wants ta be like, who wants ta be like DA JONESES???" when Ron gave them their cue....it was obvious that the Tempts have much respect for these fellas because they are just as much a part of the suceess of the show as the Tempts rhythm section which travels with them full time...and they enjoy it just as much...so it's fun to watch. You see, the thing with the Temptation's shows is that it's a shame they have to leave the stage...they are sooo good, and so lover-lee to look at, and they SOUND SO DAMN GOOOD...you just wish they could stay on stage a little longer....it's a shame they hafta leave at all....:OD
SUNDAY....well, ladies (and gents), all good things do come to an end, and that includes spending a weekend with my all time fave group, DA TEMPTS.....so even though you enjoy the show and you've seen it before, you kinda of wish it wouldn't end....they are that superlative...outstanding...superb and all that good stuff...:OD There's just no denying, they are the best at what they do, and they have no peer
The jackets...vivid, emerald green (like a vibrant jewel), white shirts, black slacks and black & white (like zebra) pocket squares and black patent leather boots...YESSSSSS!!! They liked too fabulous and they were rockin' and rollin on SUNDAY fah sho.....Ron was at his comedic best this weekend...he was on a roll....who said that we can't partay on Sunday..
They worked that audience to a fever pitch and turned the Tropicana out...if anybody missed church during the day, they definitely went ta church that night, believe me!!!! They really rocked from start to finish and they had the crowd rockin' with 'em.....and they were using Harry's credit card this time around (after JOYCE, Harry's wife, got through "shoppin'," according to Otis)...and the Horney Horns did themselves proud along with the Tempts rhythm section....Turbo Terry had the ladies feelin' da holeh ghost agin, chile....girl were havin' apoplexy up in theah...FOUR DAYS really gets the ladies going...Ron and Otis were suggestin' that they make that song the theme song for a soap opera (like Days of Our Lives) or something...and everyone sounded terrific...Bo, Ron, Otis, Harry and Terry were on their game and Harry had a little extra flair in those dance steps....everyone enjoyed themselves...and all weekend, the Tempts had a very enthusiastic, lively crowd that were especially appreciative of what they had seen and it was just magical................
