The posting below was from the Ron Tyson site.People who had seen the Classic Five were discussing their reactions.
When Ellen talks about the perfect synchronization of all their movements, "hands held in a certain position exactly together" I wondered.
Are the present Tempts that exact in their movements?
No matter how closely I try to watch them, it's hard to see all five at once. But, oh how I loved that perfect synchronization as seen in the movie, particularly the Ed Sullivan segment of "My Girl" on television and the very last scene. And the actors' eyes twinkled with enjoyment as they danced. An enjoyment which can also be seen in the rections of the Classic Five on video. Their smiles, their eyes twinkling.

Hey Everyone....all this talk about seeing the Classic Five made
me start to think back....I also was very young when I first saw
the Classic Five...HOWEVER, my dearly departed Mom, bless her
heart, was NOT about to let me go to the Apollo to see them when
I was younger (you know the drill, "no chile of mine is going to
125th Street, PERIOD....NO, I DON'T CARE if so and so's big
sister is going...YOU'RE NOT. AND DON'T ASK AGAIN..GOT IT?"),
but I distinctly remember seeing them on an old Saturday evening
TV show in NYC...the Clay Cole Show...and even on TV, they
looked so good and so mesmerizing...I instantly took a liking to
them...FIVE FINE MEN all moving in unison, with terrific harmony
and all that, LAWD...made me wanna "adopt" 'em and keep 'em all
for myself....just like erbodeh else...HAHAHAHAHA!!! And I
remember reading the old record or rock and roll magazines, that
were printed on yellow paper, and how the reporter who saw them
talked about the precision of their movements (when they were
doing a gesture with a hand, everyone's hand moved AT THE SAME
TIME, IN THE SAME WAY, AND STAYED IN THE SAME POSITION) and the
intricate harmonies and how their voices wove in and out like an
intricate pattern or words to that effect, and how they put on
such a phenomenal show that, when it was over, you just didn't
want them to leave the stage, you wanted them to stay and do
just one more song, make one more move....AWESOME...JUST LIKE
TODAY...
I also remember the very first time I DID see them in person at
Madison Square Garden...Dennis and Damon were in the group,
along with Otis, Melvin and Richard (I believe it was Richard),
and I can remember what they wore (burnt orange jumpsuits with
rhinestone chokers and five of the neatest afros you EVER saw on
a bunch of brothas ANYWHERE)....the movements were just as
precise, the harmonies just as tight and LAWD....I just didn't
want them to leave the stage...NOBODY DID...when it was over, we
stomped and screamed and begged for more....I can remember
feeling like I was transported to another time and place and it
was magical and mesmerizing and totally unforgettable...I also
remember going home and RAVING to my mom about how terrific they
LOOKED, SOUNDED and they way it made me just jump up and down
and boogie like never before (me and everybody else up in
there!!)....and I distinctly remember telling her...MA, THOSE
WERE FIVE OF THE FINEST MEN I HAVE EVER SEEN
ANYWHERE...OHMIGOD!!!! and MA, YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED THE WAY THE
LOOKED...FIVE OF THE NEATEST AFROS YOU WILL EVER SEE (precision
cut 'fros that shined, honey, none a that dull stuff that you
might see on da street when you saw some of the other
brothas)...cuz mom had a thing about black men and raggedy 'fros
back in the day...and I can remember her laughing at my
description of it...
But EVERYTHING that they said and that I had seen was true, and
it still is today...yes, they've got a little more of a
waistline (we all may have), and they are older, but they have,
to my mind, aged like fine wine...to perfection...and I feel
that this is the best lineup they've had in a while...and they
all move in unison, with a precision that NONE OF THESE YOUNG
MEN OR WOMEN can duplicate, no matter how hard they try.....and
I can't wait to see them tomorrow night at Westbury and again in
September at AC....bring on da noise and da moves and erthang
else...cuz I'm ready! :OD :OD :OD :OD :OD
