Being a Boy Scout leader has pretty well cured me of any fear of crawly things. I'm the one the younger boys call on at camp to come and get the spiders or snakes out of their tents. The only animals I've been afraid of while camping were the black bears out at Philmont. We had to hang everything with any type of scent, up in the trees in 'bearbags' 35 feet high at night.

I am a packrat. I keep any and every thing. I have old batteries, half of pencils, work from the eighth grade. My mind is always telling me, don't throw that away, you might need that. And sometimes the mind is willing, but my flesh is weak. I WANT to throw stuff away, and I can't.

Peach, I can relate to what your daughter did because I did the EXACT same thing to my mother when she was driving. A bee got into the car and I FREAKED - almost caused my mother to have an accident. She finally managed to pull the car over and then had to get me AND the bee out of the car...... That is what I had to do....find a shoulder to pull off onto and kill that moth!! She would not stop screaming until I did. :comfort: Motherhood...... knows no bounds. ;D Peach

I got called "Gammarah" (another of those Japanese monster flicks) a lot in school since it rhymes with Tamara. I hated it!!!

I hate racial stereotypes!! :bs: :bs: Bugs, you and I have something in common. I'm left handed and I hate insects and bugs of any kind. I am notorious for running away when I see a bee coming, I get sick to my stomach seeing roaches and waterbugs, and flies annoy me more than anything.

Me, too!! Honesty time...... one of my *least* favorite parts in the Temps movie. Remember the scene when the audience has a rope down the middle? They zoom in on the *one* white girl dancing and she has absolutely no rhythm. She is dancing like a flat dork. That scene burns me up. I know that's silly.... but I thought the first time I saw it, "Yea....white girl with no rhythm. BIG stretch." Actually...it doesn't really burn me up, I just think it's a drag. Peach

DBaby, my grandfather knew how to read, he taught ME how to read when I was three yrs old..... Peach, yeah stereotypes suck, no matter who they're perpertrated on - I remember that scene too and frankly, it wasn't needed.

Well, You could go to the Bat Caves in Carlsbad, New Mexico. No bugs at night 'cause the bats are out eating all of them. Great for summer camping - I didn't need a tent since there were no bugs. Just put a tarp down and slept on top of my sleeping bag enjoying the cool night air. The only thing I had to worry about were the armadillos running across the tarp waking me up.
