Oh take me back...................... I miss: Candy necklaces - my neck would be dirty and sticky from playing hard with that necklace on! Double Dutch - don't see kids doing that anymore The Good Humor Man - Chocolate Chip Candy was the best... Playing Red light, Green light with the lamp post being the base 45's and the penny on the arm so it wouldn't skip! My Skate Key! My 3-Speed Black English Racer bike..... the "benz" of bikes back then .... ;D Yo-Yo's Chatty Cathy, Barbie & Tressy (her hair "grew" out of a hole in her head!) Going out on Christmas Eve to get the tree and then decorating it with Angel Hair that always cut you! Making a "clubhouse" out of the big refrigerator box that the neighbors just got...... ;D Funny Bones - I miss them........ I could go on.... but this defintely brings back some sweet memories!

I remember touring the Wonder Bread factory in DC, on a school field trip. They gave us sample bags of little goodies including a miniature loaf of Wonder Bread. mmmmm It sure smelled good in that factory ;D
Take time for a "Tasty break... with Tastycakes"
There was a Hostess Thrift Store between my elementary school and home. We always had to stop by and pick up Hostess Twinkies, Cupcakes, Fruit Pies, Ding Dongs, etc.
Remember those pop fizzie drink tablets that looked like Alka Seltzer but came in different flavors?
Shoop-Shoop Hula Hoops?
The 'Mystery Date' board game?
Battleship Game - long before it went electronic? ;D ;D

Also.....remember those Bozo the clown punching bags with weights in the bottom? You'd punch one, it would fall down, then pop back up? Peach

I had a Suzy Homemaker oven. I tried to fry an egg in it.....really gross. Also, Sukkafu.....go to this link! I had a great time looking at old candy bar wrappers...I know that's sad. But I loved Caravelles, so it was cool seeing a wrapper. (I loved all those Peter Paul goodies, like Powerhouse!) www.topsecretrecipes.com/candybars/canintro.htmPeach

wonderama starred some guy named sonny fox i think, and then a guy named bob, and elise and i both remember a song he'd sing which was

Sukka! You got my brain cells on overdrive!! I had the Easy Bake Oven I liked Bosco too - that was the only way my Mom could get me to drink milk...... Horn & Hardaart had the best lemon meringue pie! Chock Full O' Nuts had the best hot dogs and donuts I used to love Wonderama, host was Sonny Fox - they played all the Warner Bros cartoons which was/still is my favorite FLUFFER NUTTER - Would you believe that there's a restaurant in the neighborhood where I work called "America" - theY specialize in foods that are indigenous to a particular region of the country...and on the menu they have not only PB&J sandwiches, but FLUFFER NUTTER SANDWICHES. So the next time you come to NY, try to go to "America" - the rest of the menu ain't bad either...... ;D

I don't remember if mine stopped working or if the lightbulb went out and I never replaced it, but the thing is sitting on the shelf in my closet. I wonder how long I can keep it...

I remember touring the Wonder Bread factory in DC, on a school field trip. Oooh! That's another thing I miss! Field Trips!!! We as adults should be able to take them!!! The 'Mystery Date' board game?
Now that's something that I don't understand why it hadn't been re-created online. I've even thought about making a Tempts version, but never having played it, I don't know how to do it. tasty cakes were the kk's of the 60's!
Ron Tyson almost killed me over some Tasty Cakes one time. I know, I said I'd never tell y'all the story but here goes........ Mr. Ivory is a very hospitable person. You open your mouth and he's shoving food down it. That's just how he is. For those of you who don't know, he worked security for the Tempts (on an as-needed basis) for almost 20 years. Whenever he would meet up with them, he'd always bring them food. Well, he lives in PA and used to always bring Ron lemon Tasty Cakes because PA is about the only place you can still get them. One time when I was up there to see him, we got some at a store because I'd always heard him talk about them. As someone who grew up in the hometown of Little Debbies (the QUEEN of the snack cakes, thank you very much) I was VERY unimpressed. On a separate occasion, we had gone to see a show and afterwards, John and I were standing outside of the bus talking to Ron. John said, "hey Ron, I brought you some Tasty Cakes, but Ivory at them all before we got here! ha ha" At that point Ron wrapped his big hands around my little throat and proceeded to PRETEND to strangle me. Of course he was just kidding. And now you know the "rest of the story" about how I was almost "murdered" ;D by one of the Temptations. Does anyone remember Halloween costumes from the early 80's ........ I think they came in a kit or something. But you were this creature and you wore as a hat the head of the creature? Seems like they were a big fad one year. No one else ever remembers them.
