wow. "papa was a rolling chef. He made a home with his sugars and spice. And when you dined you wondered why people formed lines."

you need to learn at age 15 to make your own peach cobbler- just pull a recipe of the 'net and start baking away! you're a big girl! okay, big enough! How come everyone keeps saying that?

Your dad is one talented chef, TDallas! Love those ice-sculptures and entrees! I love to cook as well, but I agree with you, not for a living. My tastes are very broad, Mexican, Chinese, Soul Food, Fancy Entrees, Greek...though I often can't find the right recipe for an everyday dinner.

I knew you were going to be surprised, since I had never mentioned my age on here before. But I thought you might have suspected that I was young since I mentioned a few times that I am going into college this year to study fashion design.
Basically, I heard about the Drams from Street Gold. A friend of mine told me, after I had ordered SG, that there was a great group on the video called the Dramatics. Needless to say, I was very impressed with their acapella renditions of the Tempts' hits, and especially with L.J.'s voice (he was great on "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", they should have let him sing the part that David Jr. sang and had David Jr. sing another song) and so I wanted to find out more about the group. I bought one of their CDs in the summer of 1999, and after that, I was hooked!

That's a great story Diva. I would have suspected you have been a long time Dramatic lover. I have been fans of their since I heard Whatcha' See... They really are my second favorite group. The lp with She's A Rainmaker and Just Shopping along with You're Fooling You took me over the edge. But as you can tell I like the lp with Spaced Out, Oceans of Thoughts...., Makin' You so Happy and My Ship next. Then it's Hey You, Get Off my Mountain and You Could Become The Very Heart of Me. Oh Yeah I can't forget I'm Hooked on You. There's almost always a Drams cd backing up my Temps cds. LJ's I Can't Get Over You is a Classic. MY TEARS KEEP FALLING LIKE RAIN FROM A WEEPING WILLOW. aND ALL NIGHT LONG I JUST KEEP WETTING MY PILLOW.
I'm even more impressed if the first you saw them was on Street Gold cause you got them down pat. And they were good on there, huh? I always wanted to hear them do some Temps stuff and SG was perfect. We really didn't need to hear David Jr. at all. How long was Barrington with them and when?

Most of the fans at the fan club have been fans since the 70s and some of them have even seen the guys in concert or met them when they were still in their prime. I didn't meet them personally until the spring of 2002. Barrington was with them in 1981, but I don't think it was very long, because in a magazine interview, Ron (I believe) is quoted saying that when L.J. left (for a short time), Barrington was his replacement but he came in at a very difficult time and something went wrong. Ron doesn't say exactly what went wrong but from what I can gather, the other guys probably compared him to L.J. constantly, were expecting him to be a carbon copy of L.J...and couldn't stop talking about how much they missed L.J. Ron then goes on to say that Barrington tried to sue them and their manager, but it doesn't say what for.

Moonpies, up in NY, I haven't seen them but while driving down south, I have. The Automat, real big in the 50's and 60's. Drive-In's, Old fashion Butter Crunch, Jelly Roll Cake (the way my mother made it). Good Ole House Parties (I was too young to hide in the closet) but I remember the sounds from my bedroom. ;D I found in Durhan, NC this store called The Cracker Barrel. They are in many places but this is the first one I went into. The items in there brought back good ole memories. Awwww. ;D
