Otis isn't and never has been trying to make it as a solo artist, so i don't even think that is an issue. The issue is whether or not he's doing fair business practices.

Bo's suit against the Dramatics was reported in a magazine over three and a half years ago in a story on the Dramatics. Here's Jane's source of information, so that we can ALL see what was said: (This isn't difficult to do Jane...) Posted 10/26/03 on Soulful Detroit ForumThis is from a an article that appeared in "Soul Express" magazine that comes from Helsinki, Finland. Bo apparantly tried to sue The Dramatics and their management as well. Has anyone ever heard anything on this or know the outcome? It is "Soul Express" No. 3/2000. Phyllis Hyman is on the cover. www.soulexpress.net
This is a quote from the article. "Before Craig the group(the Dramatics) tested, among others, Bo Henderson, who today is better known as Barrington Scott Henderson, a member of the Temptations from their '98 PHOENIX RISING platinum album and this year's EAR-RESISTABLE CD." This is what former bass player of the Dramatics, Tony Green, said about Bo. "Bo was the first replacement after L.J.(Reynolds). I think Ron Banks and everybody still hadn't got over the fact that L.J. had left for real. Bo came at the time when there was a lot of mixed emotions, and he got left behind. He tried to sue the manager, Forest Hamilton, and the Dramatics." soulfuldetroit.com/forum/index.html Thread "Barrington Sued the Dramatics?" Unfortunately, on quick glance at least, it appears you have to subscribe to Soul Express Magazine to read the entire article.

Be nice. I AM nice . You love me, you know you do, admit it . I was trying to help Jane learn to "cite her source", in the nicest way possible, so she won't come back with a "find it yourself" when asked next time .

Well said,Kalisa! If what is written is true...and Bo came in between L.J. & Graig Jones.....then he did a "Rickey Owens" stint .Imagine Rickey Owens suing Otis......this is the same thing with Bo & The Dramatics! :yourock:

Peach.......honey you can't get caught up in the moment, unless you're with me then I could understand it but when so many before you have fallen to the axe you have to be wary of what's going on around you.. Once you are in the group....the honeymoon should be over and business needs to be taken care of for you and your family berfore you sing another note. If Otis threatens people with I ain't gon pay you unless you sign this kind of deal then the onus is on the artist to decide whether he wants in or out. I just don't think we are looking at the mafia here. I think some people have overlooked the details when they joined just cause they are joining the Temptations. Not good!

Shout outs to ((((((((((((((((Everybody)))))))) in this thread!!
I've been posting on the Tempts' boards since the fall of 1999, and maybe I overlooked it, but all I remember from that time to the time that (((((Barrington)))) left the Temptations is rave reviews of his performances!! From the reviews I've read the fans Loved his performances. There was nothing said about his singing - like him not hitting notes, etc. Even when the rumors came out about (((G.C.))) replacing BO, there weren't posts talking about BO's singing. Now that BO is no longer with the Tempts, it's like some people are jumping on the bandwagon about his singing and nothing was said before.
Hey (((Mike)))! BO did the album "10 1/2" with the Dramatics. He sang in the background. TTYAL!

Melody, here is an example of a discussion we've had on this board..........
"i don't hate bo, ivory! i just don't think he's temptation material- i was impressed by his vocal abilities, but unimpressed with his interpretaion of the classics. fine with others that he can sing the ''new'' tempts songs, but if you want my $$ again, you have to perform the classics well enough -i don't expect them to sound exactly like the hof6 but they don't have to sound like betty boop either!" ~ sukkafu
I think we've even had a poll on it ........ how should the current Tempts sing? Make the songs their own or follow the traditional style.
For the record, I don't care HOW these guys sing, just as long as they keep doing it! :clapping:

"Corn, it ain't about the money" My goodness, grown folk need to take care of their own business. Before it turns into a problem. It looks bad for both, but mostly for Bo. He should've taken care of his things while this was going on. After the fact, it smells of sour grapes.

never had anything good to say about bo's "performances" or his "interpretations" of the classic songs. I've seen more of his performances than i can count and all i can say is consistently sub par to average. He must have been "Dramatic for a day" because there is nobody that can fill the shoes of L.J. Reynolds period!

This is from bo's cd baby page:
As a lead singer for the legendary Temptations, experience R&B at its very best with Barrington's soulfully smooth & sexy sounds. His lyrics, melodies and vocal dynamics will truly amaze you.
Should'nt that say FORMER lead singer. Can't Otis sue him for falsely claiming to be the lead singer of the imitations oops i mean Temptations.
