Bo's suit against the Dramatics was reported in a magazine over three and a half years ago in a story on the Dramatics.
I wondered about the poster advertising the Tempts when I saw the second concert with GC Cameron. The program had a picture of the Tempts and Bo's picture and name on it. But, of course, the programs were printed before Cameron came on board.
I do not know what the legal technicalities are, and, as everyone knows, legalities only means how various lawyers interpret the same law.
In what way would that "picture with Bo" be different than a picture of Luther Vandross weighing 175 lbs and then he shows up for concert weighing 300 lbs? Or when someone dies at age 90, and they put a picture of him/her at age 35 in the paper.
Certainly performers don't have pictures taken every week and often use a picture that is many years old in their programs and on their advertising posters.

Thanks All5Voices for explaining about how a singer could sing a "wrong" note but not necessarily an incorrect note.
We often talk about a singer "personalizing" a song. Obviously a solo singer is given much more leeway, but in a group is this "technique" you mention usually frowned upon by the members of the group because it causes problems?
Would there be different "rules" or "guidelines" for group singing harmony?

It was alledged that Otis and maybe more said that Bo had sang the 'wrong' notes in performances.
And I'm still trying to figure out WHEN O supposedly said this. The only thing I'm aware of is that there were apparently complaints from fans that Bo was not singing "My Girl" in the traditional way, he was ad-libbing too much. But I don't see how that's slander, like All5 said that was pretty much true. Now I'm not saying it was a BAD thing.
can Bo sue based on the fact that his picture is still on the flyers advertising Temptations performances?
I think he is ........... or at least that his face is still on the official website.

Because, no matter what his size, you're still getting Luther.

What suit did Bo take out on the Dramatics? He never recorded with them. As for the picture...I guess they do the cut& paste thing, again.

Barrington Henderson announced from his website that he is leaving the Temptations this was back in June of this year. "Bo" says that he "[thanks] Otis and everyone involved for the experience" but recognizes that "evolution must take it's course." Bo joined the group in 1998 and replaced fellow tenor Theo Peoples. He not only sang on the group's first RIAA certified Platinum album "Phoenix Rising," The Voice on Stay and This is my Promise was Theo Peoples. Bo helped the group win their third Grammy award for "Ear-Resistable." Can we look forward to a thriving solo career (maybe yes or maybe no) He has a CD out called "Best Kept Secret" I gotten so use to the Temptations changing personnel that this one didn't phase me at all. Bo was a good singer, but not a David, Dennis, or Ali Woodson. Theo Peoples in my opinion had the better voice and was a good fit for the Temptations. Theo Peoples is currently singing with the Four Tops. Barrington Henderson is sueing the Temptations and all I can say "AND THE BAND PLAYED ON" This is the dark side of the Temptations, off and on disputes with Otis Williams. Dennis was in and out of court about using the name Temptation. David, Eddie, Paul, Damon, Glenn all had some dispute with Mr. Otis. The problem with the Temptations are always center around money, drugs and good business management. This is nothing new and will eventually play out. The Temptations will go on and people will forget there was a Barrington Henderson. The music industry is a tuff business. Otis Williams is a task master. That's why he's where he is today. There will be always some singer in the wings waiting and hoping to be a Temptation. I personally have not heard "Best Kept Secret" I hope the CD title is not an omen to Barrington. G.C.Cameron for what I here is doing the job, he's a veteran singer and the Temptations are still going strong. The Temptations will be working on a new CD in January, they're going to have some guest singers on the CD. If Luther Vandross is well by then, he is one singer Otis is considering. Its a win win situation for Otis and the Temptations. Otis has the money to fight if he wants to, just how deep are Bo's pockets. He is sueing for royalties and social security, one question that come to mind was Barrington Henderson taking care of business. Some singers get stars in their eyes and forget about the business. Oh well, all I can say is "GREAT GOOGAMOOGA CAN'T YOU HEAR ME TALKING TO YA....IT'S A BALL OF CONFUSION. the doctor temptation Hey Doc...can you elaborate on the "good business practices"? I don't get that one.

It should probably be in the contract that any images of the Temptations used for promotion are owned by Motown and it's subcidiaries. Each member probably signed a waiver for his image and voice to be used in promotions including web pages. It's part of showing the illustrious history of the group.
