Where you from? Well, Born in Chicago in '56, grew up in Milwaukee, WI, Left there in '80, traveled to quite a few different states, and have semi-settled here in Seattle. How'd you find us? Well, now that my daughter is out on her own, I finally had time to sit back and enjoy the things I loved when I was younger, I remebered I was the only one on my block in '68 that was into Motown, so I started checking out old tunes, from my younger days, starting with the Temps, and became hooked again, got on my PC, doing searches,, and just fell into this site. My daughter says she can't remember when I've been so happy and consumed with things other then household, job.. etc, and I told her."hey I wasnt always a busy mom, I used to be really into things while growing up.. and the Tempts being one of them. Guess she's now seeing a side of me she never realized was there. Why do you like the tempts? They have always got me movin', they have been and always will be NO.1 When/How did you get into the tempts? 1968, I was 12 yrs old. I remember the day but I sure dont remember the song, all I know was I stumbled on to a great radio station that played all soul and Motown, and I heard the Tempts for the first time. I do recall getting grounded a few times because I was the only white girl on the block who listened and danced to the tempts and others, but I never minded.. it gave me more time to listen to the station, and make up stepes to go along with the tunes. Guess you could say I was a closet fan, until I ran across some others at school that weren't the standard, and they liked the music I liked.. my first 45 I ever bought was with that group of firends.. and it was a Temptation 45 *S* THis is a pretty cool site, I've already read and seen so much due the postings everyone has, I hope to keep checking it and adding to it daily. *s* Coey

*s* Thanks for the welcome!, now if I can just remember where I saw information on getting the video of the Tempts on the Ed Sullivan show.. not sure if it was on here, or one of the many sites I've looked at. I fowarded all those screen shots to myself at work and grabbed the Leon and the Rolls pic first, had our repro guy enlarge it a little and print it off for me.. one for work and one for home. But we sure couldnt enlarge it to much otherwise it would turn out fuzzy. If anyone comes across a real poster size ..size, I'd appreciate the site where to order.. Ive looked all over. Ya know.. they could make a bit more $ if they did posters of some scenes. Coey

Hello Everyone! Ivory, thank you for providing a wonderful place for all of us to share thoughts, ideas and feelings about The Temps! I have had a really good time on this site and have become almost addicted to it! LOL!
I am from Indiana, however I have lived here in Los Angeles for 20 years.
I found this site through an internet search.
I love the Temps for all that they are, were and what they will be! They are Incredibly warm, kind and generous. I am proud to say that I am friends with all of them. Otis, Ron, Terry, GC and Joe as well as the guys in the band, Al, Buster, Vic, Kerry and Adrian. Also Frank who makes them sound so good to us in the audience.
I have always been a fan of the Temps. Loved the music in The Big Chill! Then I met this wonderful woman and fell in love with her. She was and still is a very close friend of The Temps and has been for 13 years now. My first time meeting The Temps was on April 12, 2003 at The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. They had a gig there that night! I was introduced to Don, their road manager, and he took me to their dressing rooms. Well, to make a long story short I got to go up on stage and sing "My Girl". Man, what a night. Since then I have spent a lot of time with The Temps and now I feel like a member of the family. I was able to hang out in the recording studio while they cut "Legacy". I was even able to help record the song, "Stay Together". I helped with the foot stomping in the song! Ron had just had knee surgery and Otis was going to have his knee surgery in a day or so and so I said to the producer and Otis, "Hey send me in!" Otis said, "Alright, go on in!" So I went into the recording booth and put on my headphones and stood there with Terry, GC and Joe! The music began, we stompped together and at the end of the song GC said, "Hey! You're on the CD!" And the rest is history. LOL! Hence my nick name, 6thTemp!
I could not have asked for a nicer bunch of people to call friends. I hope they feel the same about me!
TEMPTATIONS FOREVER!!!

Welcome Coey and 6th Temp...... .........sorry for being late with the welcome but we're glad to have you both. Coey I was real interested in your post about how difficult it was for you to freely listen to what you enjoyed. That must have been quite hard for you.

Where you from? From LA area...living in Vegas since 1997. How'd you find us? Have been on many Temps sites...just blundered in last month. Why do you like the tempts? I have always loved Motown...40 year fan...still have some old vinyl as well as the newest DVDs. When/How did you get into the tempts? I always liked Temps and Supremes best. Now that I can use a computer, I can see pictures, listen to songs, read interviews, etc. Ahhh, that's heaven on earth! Temptations forever! ;D

Hello, new members. It seems like there are quite a few. Why don't you tell us somthing about yourselves. We all want to know.
Where you from?
How'd you find us?
Why do you like the tempts?
When/How did you get into the tempts?
I was living in Bayside, New York at the time of my birth - but was actually born in Flushing Hospital, New York. I have lived in numerous places - but I am currently living in a small town in Washington State.
I have been married for 31 years now - I have one child - my Baby Girl - and two Grandchildren - a 7 year old Boy - and a 4 month old Girl. My Huband and I re-newed our Wedding Vows - along with a BIG PARTY last year. It was GREAT!
I have spoken to Ivory numerous times - and found this site speaking to her. I belong to Kym's site that is dedicated to the great Paul Williams - and Ivory does post over there every once in awhile. Curet30 used to post over there quite often - and I always ENJOYED his posts. But he has not posted over there in a long while. We miss you Joe!
As far back as I can remember (which has been quite a long time) the Temptations - along with the majority of Motown Groups - has always been my favorites.
As old as I am - LOL - I have always enjoyed the Temptations - almost since the time they first started.

Been a Tempt fan since 1963....I was looking for a specific video when I ran across this site. I saw the original tempts at the Apollo theater...I was in the front row There will never be another group like the original tempts....These young kids can't sing.... BTW, The Legacy album pretty much "sucks"...
