"Curet" does the Tempts!

As most of you know, we have a celebrity on our board (well, actually we have quite a few celebrities, but that's another matter.) Anyway, ONE of those celebrities is none other than Joe Rivera, first tenor with the doo wop group "Earl Lewis and the Channels."

Well, not only does Joe (or as we know him "curet30") sing with the Channels, but he's also a Tempts fan (why else would he be a member of this board.) Joe has been kind enough to share with us HIS renditions of some of his favorite Tempts' songs.

Although I sing with the Channels, remember Terry and I are the same age. We grew up listening to Motown on our parents' record players.

I always wanted to be a Temptation before anything else. Earl Lewis & The Channels aren't chopped liver but the greatest vocal group of MY time are the Temptations.

Joe has a beautiful voice all of the songs he did had a lot of feeling in them. And when he sang Wish it would rain I had tears in my eyes. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you but 'I Wish It Would Rain' was led by my buddy, Ricardo Wright. I always felt it was Ricardo's best recording.

'In Love With You' - words by yours truly. Music (keyboards and string arrangements) by yours truly. Robert Simmons came up with the bass line and Gamal Chasten came up with the vocal arrangement on the bridge. Even Gamal's "on and on" and "you know it, you know it, you know it will" deserved to be acknowledged as his creation for copyright purposes.

Well I didn't realize that Ricardo was the OTHER cute guy in that picture (you of course being the first cute guy.) I've seen that before and always thought he was someone famous, I just couldn't figure out who. He reminds me of someone.

Folks used to say Ricardo Wright looked like James 'JT' Taylor from KOOL AND THE GANG
