Now, you all know, I have no idea about what makes a singer great -- except whether I think he is. But I believe what Damon is lacking (in this presentation) is the touch of a mature masculinity ... he sounds kind of boyish. Otherwise I like his voice. Just my opinion.

he sounds boyish, and he has no fullness. His tone is to light. He also has no good inflections. It almost seems monotone even though he's on his right pitches.

boyish don't have to mean bad. he sings the songs with a terrible tone. no good intonation or inflection.

> he sings the songs with a terrible tone. > no good intonation or inflection.
Now tell us how you really feel!
I think you're being just a little harsh...I think his timbre (ie: "tone") is just fine, he has excellent intonation (ie: ability to stay on key/pitch/tune), & I have no problem with his phrasing (ie: "inflection").
Check out Masterpiece, "folks coming home & finding all their possessions gone..."
Anyway, his intonation is better than Eddie's!

Better than Eddie? What? Man, he don't have nothing on Eddie. Damon is second rate compared to Eddie. His voice is light and he's not grounded. he sounds like a little nasally pup you'd hear in a high school concert.

I said his "intonation" was better, i.e. his pitch.

I said his "intonation" was better, i.e. his pitch. and I'm saying it's not.

I certainly heard him being flat. not really sharp. I didn't hear that, but I did hear him going flat alot.

I've heard peole say that Maria Callas' voice toward the end of her career was "spent," but what made me like her despite of that was that she could make me hear and feel the passion or sadness in a song ... I think Damon didn't give it a real try ... Eddie and the Callas always did, in my opinion. I missed the dreaminess and tenderness of Eddie's rendition ... Does anyone know what I wanted to say? Eddie convinced me that he really had lived what he sang (whether he did or not) Damon made me think: "Boy, you don't know what you're singing about ..." Sort of. ;D

Good to know Cheech. It is really difficult for someone like me to talk to people who really know what they are talking about. I haven't even heard of some of the expressions you and Budrocket are using ... I just go by my gut feelings
