spiders scare me pretty bad... even extreamly fake looking ones, I won't go NEAR them! But the thing that scares me the most are clowns. AHHH! I'll seriously start CRYING if a clown comes near me. At least I laugh when I run away from a spider... but CLOWNS! Ahh! One time I was downtown and I wanted to get ice cream but there was this clown handing out balloons by the door, so my friend and I walked all the way around the block and snuck in behind the guy. Anyway, as I'm standing there waiting for my ice cream, I heard someone walk up behind me and I turned around and it was THE CLOWN! And it started talking to me! So I started to flip out and the clown left. Scary stuff.

Dbaby,
I have a friend who is terrified of clowns. At first I thought...clowns, what a silly thing . But when you think of it they do look pretty creepy. Do you think that the fear is from the actual appearance of the clown or the unknown behind the costume and makeup. My nephew will play with snakes but is really frightened of spiders.
Aba, We have blue tailed and five lined skinks here. The five lined skinks look exactly like a garter snake except they have legs. During pool season I don't think that there is a day that goes by that there is not a skink in the skimmer basket. Everytime I open the lid to take the basket out I hold my breath and prepare myself....those little legs are always a welcome sight. So far I haven't had any snakes in the pool. The day I find one the pool becomes a rose garden.LOL

I had a snake once in the pool. I guess the roadrunner took care of it for me ... the ugliest things here in S.A. are the scorpions. I got stung by one right into the big toe one day -- my screams almost gave Mr. Konda a heart attack.

I had one jump out from behind the pool moter as I was cleaning it and I darn near broke my neck trying to get out of the way as it was running from me ;D ;D ;D

That's one thing my mom says she *doesn't* miss about us living in Corpus Christi..... the scorpions! My dad used to bring them home in jars and keep them in refrigerator...just to spite her. Peach

When I saw the first one in my house -- I was ready to pack my things and leave this country. Believe me! I didn't like my house anymore; every time I saw something on the floor, I was up in arms ... Ugh!
Oh Aba, I would have liked to watch you ...

I'm DEATHLY claustrophobic. For my point to make sense, let me tell all you guys now that, I'm in a wheelchair. When I'm in a store with my parents, if I happend to look up at the ceiling, I can't move if it's too low. I often enbarrass my parents by refusing to move, especially if I happen to look at the ceiling in line during a check out. I will put a death grip on my wheels, and close my eyes. For all you music fans, my claustrophobia is so severe that to this day I still can't look at the cover of The Who's "It's Hard" album for an extended lenth of time.

Jay, I know what you mean!! I used to be claustrophobic. I say "Used To" because I don't know if I still am.....because I rarely do anything to "feel" that way, you know what I mean? (I avoid very large crowds, because it makes me feel like I can't breathe.) I remember in high school, some kids wrapped me in a large, heavy black stage curtain. (You guys know which kind I'm talking about?) I couldn't figure out how to get out of it and I FREAKED OUT completely. My brother used to shut me in this little hall closet, and I would do the same thing. Or put a pillow on my head, etc. Brothers suck. Anyway.....I feel yer pain! Peach

Thank goodness I never had a brother ... having three sisters was quite difficult, but probably not as difficult as having a brother ;D

Finally, somebody who understands me. ;D But, isn't my fear taking it a little to far? You used to be a dj, so I assume you know the cover for "It's Hard", right? i know it's just a d*mn CD cover, but looking at that long, narrow hallway with the low ceiling literally makes me feel dizzy.

You all will probably laugh your heads off -- but I've read a long time ago that claustrophobia may be caused by a difficult birth (for the baby) ...
