I also noticed that during the scene where Duck was in a bunk bed with his many siblings, there was a picture of the Tempts on the wall!

I like The Temptations better, but both movies are very good. The 5 Heartbeats focused on the lives of everyone in the group, but in "The Temptations", the movie focused mainly on Otis and Blue (because they were the only members to remain in the group throughout the entire movie) "The Temptations" never even acknowledges the personal lives of anyone except Otis. The fact that Melvin, Eddie and David all married and had their own families is completely ignored. (Paul's wife and family are mentioned and shown) Still, I know that if the producers wanted to tell the ENTIRE Temptations story, then the movie would have needed 3 more parts. The 5 Heartbeats had more range because it was a fictional story, but in my view nuthin beats the Temptations. The Temptations is also sadder because only 1 original member survived. The 5 Heartbeats maintained all of their members, but only lost their manager. Regardless, they're both great movies!!

Actually, Eddie, Melvin, Paul, and David's lives would make interesting movies all on their own.

I've seen the five heartbeats millions of times. I love the tempts movie just because it's about the tempts. I can't compare. But if i had to I'd be stuck.

I like them both. The Music in The Temps Movie is really what made the movie. I like the drama of Pappa Was A Rolling Stone scene. The happy ending is what made The Five Heartbeats movie especially when Duck reconciled with his brother.

The Temptation Movie was better than the Five Heartbeats because you were actually able to see within the story how these real life singers became the The Temptin' Temptations. Although, I really liked the Five Heartbeats and one of my favorite movies, it doesn't touch the Temptations' movie. I really wish the producers could have captured more of the Temptations' movie.
