this is a tough one betwn leon and christian payton
i gotta go with leon, though, i think he was fabulous as david ruffin...like anna konda said, he showed the humanity and vulnerability of such a complex man.

I have to give it up to Terron! His Voice & Body language were So reminisent of Eddie! IMO, He was 'Eddie' in His Voice, Facial expressions, & mannerisims,(did I spell that correctly?)! All of the Actors were extremely well versed in their Roles! What a Tribute They each displayed! There were times briefly, that I almost thought They were Their Who They Portrayed!
LOL, they made up some fictional dog in their own little world, and they're ignoring our questions about where the dog can be seen because HE DOESN"T EXIST! I think we're on the bad end of an inside joke, am I right Pimpey? Ed?
There is No Puppy!

I re-watched the Movie in slow motion, & paused @ certain scenes! I NEVER saw a puppy! All I did was get crossed-eyed, & fell for a joke! Brilliant one at that! My Compliments!

The actor who sang at Melvin's funeral was the best. Sounded like a REAL singer....I just didn't get his name.

I voted for Christian because he gave a hell of a performance, but whatever happened to him ? It's like he fell off the face of the earth ... at least I've seen the other actors in different roles - no matter how small - but he hasn't done anything since the movie. For somone so talented I just hope he gets a break in something decent..... The last thing I saw Christian in was "U.S. Marshals" with Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Snipes. Someone told me he was in a PBS movie with Phylicia Rashad and Debbie Allen a while back, but I saw that movie and Christian was NOT in it. From what I've heard, he does a lot of stage work these days, so it's not like he's not doing anything. We just don't see him on TV or in the movies...

I saw him in US Marshalls, To Sir with Love II and a gangster movie with Laurence Fishburne (forgot the name), but those movies were made a while ago. I'm glad to hear he's doing stage work - which, in my opinion, is the best way to perfect your craft if you're an actor.
