Also gotta give it up to DB and Charles. My favorite DB scene was the one in the doctors office when he discovers he's got rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor tells him that he needs to rest. The reaction DB showed was just perfect. It really looked like he felt he had absolutely no choice but to not rest. He kind of hesitates, and sputters, "...Can't rest", like there was just no other way. It reminds me of a robot that's been programmed but faces a situation he hasn't been programmed for. How haunting!
My favorite Charles scene was the one where he finds out Lamont is dead. It would have been very easy to just bust out in tears but Charles plays it with such subtelty. He starts to break down and then catches himself, tries to get past it, and says, "I can get through this...I can...Oh, Blue" and then he just falls to pieces. Just beautifully done.
I don't think I've ever seen an ensemble cast that was as good as the one in this movie. With very few exceptions, everyone was just masterfully cast.

And that was am example, like with the dude who played Smokey, where DB Woodside captured his character PERFECTLY!

Oh, and of COURSE the Best Bow Legs award goes to DB Woodise. LOVE me a crooked legged man! Ivory, I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. Now mind you, I'm not a crooked/ curved leg fan like I used to be, but I'll be a liar if I say I don't watch 24 just to get a glimpse of DB walking away!!! Thats what I call "ol school fine", cause "they" just dont make 'em like that anymore........oh sorry, back to the subject...BEST PERFORMANCE: The incomparable Christian Evan Payton!!! All of the actors did a splendid job, especially Leon.

That's what I'm saying...WHAT DOG YALL TALKING ABOUT? Did I miss something?? LOL, they made up some fictional dog in their own little world, and they're ignoring our questions about where the dog can be seen because HE DOESN"T EXIST! I think we're on the bad end of an inside joke, am I right Pimpey? Ed?

He absolutely does exist, Earthangel. It's just hard to answer because he's in so many places. He was used very subtely throughout the film.

This dog makes the movie. If it weren't for the dog, I believe the movie would have been a complete flop. The dog is the consumate actor.

Exactly, Cheech. You see, every movie needs a kind of subtle constant to run throughout and, for this movie, Ogden is it.

Best Performance...hmm.... I would have to say the part where "Dennis" is getting ready to sing Aint to proud to beg and "David" grabs the mic, and the look on "Dennis'" face. ;D He really seemed shocked. Although he would grab the mic and say "Lemme sing that" Dennis and David had a better relationship then that movie described.

I think Leon was the best actor. Playing such a "demonized" character as David and still make him look human is an artistic accomplishment in itself. Leon definitely succeded in showing the many facets of David's personality; I really thought at times David were stepping right out of Genna's book ...

He does a lot of walking away on that one? I must watch more of this show!!! ........... The man needs to make a movie where he's a football player. THAT would be perfect!!! But what *I* don't understand is the fascination with bow legged men. I mean, the big hands thing, I can explain that, but bow legged men, I just don't get it. But I LIKE 'EM!!!! temptsinfo.com/smilies/wtg.gif :laughing Yes. Did you notice that dumb-a** squat dance move they had them doing.

I voted for Christian because he gave a hell of a performance, but whatever happened to him ? It's like he fell off the face of the earth ... at least I've seen the other actors in different roles - no matter how small - but he hasn't done anything since the movie. For somone so talented I just hope he gets a break in something decent.....
