Peach, a WHOLE 'nother image comes to mind when you say "Yul" and "eating crackers" but I'll leave it alone, otherwise, I'll have to go to the "Bible" thread and repent.  you need to get two Bibles and then get down on your knees and beg for forgivness for thinking that way...much less writing it...............  ;D :shocked |

 Yul Brynner isn't black!!!! Peach Well, he does look kinda black on that picture though... LOL!! --- And sorry Ivory... You know I was just acting silly, nothing serious... Everyone has their own taste. **** But still, we white men are good-looking too!

Well, he does look kinda black on that picture though... LOL!! I had to look it up one day! I thought, "What the heck is he? He's so exotic-looking!" He is half Russian and half Mongolian....which, isn't that the same as Chinese?  Sometimes I think he looked like a Siamese cat....which isn't a bad thing. Exotic!! And yes, Crella.....he looked great in a skirt! (And whatever those funky pants/capri length thingies he wore on "The King and I" that looked like they wrapped around him.) Peach |

I don't think so. Part of the former Soviet Union (and maybe Keres can explain this better) is populated by a group of people who look more Asian than you would think of a typical Russian. My high school principle was originally from there (or his parents were.) He looked like what you'd imagine an Eskimo to look like ............ I guess because somewhere back there his people and the Eskimo were one in the same.
Anyway, back to Yul ..................... he was FINE ......... that's what he was. :inlove

That must be one of those American misconceptions.... we have Chinese food that is "Mongolian" style...."Szechuan" style.... etc. Our Mongolian BBQ restaurant nearby has a Chinese emperor as its mascot. :nono I'm reading about it now.... I don't want to be a stupid American. ;D ;D I know that those of Mongolian descent tend to have darker skin and slanted eyes.....kind of like Yul's Siamese cat eyes. I figure it to be another term for "white trash," if I am not mistaken. So what probably came to Ivory's mind was an image of Yul munching on some disgusting white folks in Peach's bed |
