i went to the padres ballgames monday and tuesday night. i sit with my handicapped friend as his companion next to his wheelchair. it's over by first base. anyway, on monday night the padres star hitter ryan klesko hit a foul ball over in front of me 20-30 feet away-the ball bounced and went over the rail - i jumped in the air and focused on catching the ball- which i did. i landed on 3 wheelchairs and still had the ball. the guys in the wheelchairs were fine and so was i, although the ushers asked everybody just in case.
well, tuesday night i'm at the ballpark and the guys next to me and behind me that were there and are regulars like me said- hey steve- you're famous!
i said- what? they said - '' you were on ESPN and ESPN2
on the baseball highlights and sportscenter! as they were showing a clip from the game, they showed your acrobatic leap to snag a ball and land on the disabled! how do you feel about stealing their ball? ''
i said- well, i gave the ball to my handicapped friend so
i feel fine! they all laughed and everytime there was a foul ball hit anywhere -they said-steve-you can reach that one-just step on those people over there! they won't mind! i shook hands with them all and we had a good time.

p.s.- i'm also famous at the ballpark- people cheer me every game and ladies look at me with big eyes in wonderment. why?
well,2 yrs ago i got tired of waiting on long lines at the concession stands for a little cup of soft serve ice cream for $3.50. i found out that around the corner from the ice cream line was another self serve concession stand where you can make your own soft serve cup as high as you want for the same price. you get 4 to 5 times the ice cream if you swirl it right. i have made it an art and i walk down the stairs and around the stadium to my seat parading a 10-12 inch high solid frozen swirled cup of choc/van ice cream. i get claps, cheers, questions, hoots, hollars, and several groups in the stands bow down to me like ''we're not worthy''. when i finsihed my masterpiece tonight-the section behind me shouted- did you finish it all up? i showed them the empty cup-
and they burst in applause!
people are such freaks! ;D

well, is sukkafu famous again?
saturday night i went with my disabled friend to the padres /giants game- 56,474 people in the stadium-
3,000 people from my church were there and in the 7th inning 5 of my best friends kids sang take me out to the ballgame -their names were on the scoreboard and their little faces on the jumbotron-
but-
when we got to our first base field level seats- somebody was in them- one elderly black lady in a wheelchair with a giants cap- i teased her and said - you're the enemy so you have to move lady- she looked up at me and i was about to dump in my pants-
IT WAS BARRY BONDS' GRANDMA! 89 yrs old and feisty- she sat next to me and her 5 nurses with limo driver- she lives in riverside -that 's where barry and his dad bobby bonds another famous ballplayer in the 70's were born. i was so happy to talk to her about her world famous BARRY - who struck out to lose the game for the giants-yay!
