For a fan website there sure is alot of hate here...... I pray Bo doesn't surf in here after viewing the thread title..he will be in for a shock.
Now that brings up an interesting point. Now let me say first off that I agree with what you're saying Kiki, we need to make INFORMED decisions, but I'm talking about something else. IF we decide we don't like something AND that decision is an educated one, what's wrong with letting the performer know? (and that may not be what you're saying, it just reminded me of it.) Sometimes I see WAY too much butt-kissing on these boards (all the Tempts' boards, not just this one.) Now maybe I'm just jealous that the Tempts get more attention than me ;D but they DO have the potential for failure, all of 'em, O, Dennis, Ali, Bo, and yes, EVEN Theo!!! * * (Kalisa, please note I mean EVERYONE, even the folks I didn't mention) Anyway, IF they do a bad job with something, then we should feel free to say it, not worry that somone's gonna read it and get their feelings hurt. I did not like the remakes of "Elevator Eyes" and "Error of Our Ways" and if the Tempts asked, I'd have no problem telling them that. Now I'd be sure to add that I thought the remake of "A Love I Can See" kicked natural hind-end, but I wouldn't have a problem telling them I didn't like the other two. The way I look at it, *WE* pay these guys' salaries, call me vain, but just like in any service industry, if anyone should be worried about kissing anyone's butt ........... well, it shouldn't be us. Again Kiki, hope you don't take this as me picking on you, I'm not, what you said just reminded me of it. No I didn't think you were beating me up. I agree that artists have to take good criticism(you know what I mean) and bad. I don't think anyone should try to sing My Girl, or wish it would rain like David...just put their own self into the song. I was just in awe..of all the Bo bashing..when not everyone has heard the Cd. Mikey I don't comment on it unless I heard the tune. But If I heard it and I hate Richard singing My Girl...then I hate it... but luv you..all

I just listened to a copy of Bo's cd and in my opinion the tracks sound dated (like from late 80's early 90's) and there are way too many "vocal acrobatics" going on for a recording. He should save some that for his live show. That's just my humble opinion. I don't think he'll be doing any of those songs on the Temptations show.

it's those vocal acrobatics that bo uses on tempts classics that have him on my go away list.

then why not ignore the rumors- why make it worse by lying to your fans-your paying public? that wasn't good public relations.

Well, in his defense, it is theoretically possible that EVERYONE knew Bo was leaving except Bo. I've heard tales like that before. But just like David's departure or Richard's or whomevers, since we weren't there, we'll never know the WHOLE truth.

Well, it seems to ME, that we have two choices...
a. Bo lied to his fans. b. Bo is dumber than a box of rox.
Most/all of the members dismissed previously were done so before the advent of the widespread use of the internet where everybody "knows" everything. If Bo isn't computer-saavy, my money says he knows someone who is who had to have known something.
But you're right, I wasn't there and I don't know the man. So take your pick of the options available.

OR: C: Otis lied, and told Bo that G.C. was replacing another member of the group. G.C. has been with the guys for several months, even a box of rocks would figure out after 40 years the Temps were not going to become a 6 man group.

D: GC wasn't following the group and the lie was well hidden. hence making this tempt fan pissed beyond all compare.

Kalisa,
Your options are logical, but...
In a recent case, in a different field I saw where a major figure did not read any of the signs that the rest of the world knew and was surprised to be "fired" or not "renewed."
Since the reporters had been writing about this possible scenario for months, I could not believe that this major figure was not aware, and he was really surprised and angry, about what was coming up.
My possibilities were:
He never read the newspapers. He never watched television or listened to the radio. He never went on the Internet and cruised. His lawyers and advisers never did either of the above either. He was surrounded by advisers/friends who always told him what they thought he wanted to hear and never told him the truth about the world. The only people he ever talked to were "yes" people. He was aware of this possibility but just didn't believe it. And then add to the last suggestion that everyone around him thought the same thing.
Now I always thought his family was intelligent so where they were during all of this I have no idea. I was certainly aware of what was coming up, and I am on the fringes of information and thousands of mile away from where things were happening.
These were not things that were being cautiously mentioned on the Internet. They were in every form of media.
The strange thing here is that in cases like this, it is handled so that no one "loses face." But in this particular case everyone lost face. And that is what puzzles me. (It was not in the entertainment field.)
Remember at the 25th Motown show during the Tempts and Tops act when Levi sings, "Someone taking your place" and Ali wonders if he will be taking Dennis' place. Obviously everyone knew something was coming up. I think in the Bo situation, everyone knew it was coming up.
