i cannot believe the amount of constant rain and showers and thunderstorms that you folks in the east and south and midwest have been subjected to. i looked up the forecast from nyc to charlotte to nashville and it calls for more rain up to 5 of the next 7 days.
is everybody ok or are you soaked to the bone now? i bet it's no fun with the mud everywhere. the humidity must be awful, and the bugs must be eating you guys faster than kk's.

Sukka, this is how I feel about all this rain we've been getting - Memorial Day was rained out..... and every weekend in May was rained out - and June has gotten off to a so-so start too! :cursing: But I'll tell you one thing - better rain than snow! Cause if we got this much snow (and we got a good amount this winter too!) - I'd be out there in your neck of the woods by now! ;D ;D ;D P.S. One good thing though - the trees, flowers and grass are blooming like crazy - which ain't helping my allergies at all...... but that's ok.... with all my sneezing it just makes me a little more "damp" than ususual!

Charlotte had more rain in the first 5 months of this year than we usually get in a whole year. We've been calling Charlotte, "Seattle East" ;D The temperatures have been cooler than normal too. We're usually up in the high 80's by now and most of May, temps were in the high 60's to low 70's.

every year we get this freaky weather condition called the june gloom. obviously it happens in june. the day starts out cloudy and cool, and then by 4pm it burns off to hazy sunshine. the tempts hover between 66-72 for the month of june. no rain, although it always looks dark enough to rain. what happens is the desert gets into 100+ degrees temps, so the hot air sucks the ocean moist air inland, creating this cloudy condition close to the coast. weird. july-october it heats up in a hurry. I PROMISE NOT TO PLAY WISH IT WOULD RAIN FOR YOU FOLKS UNTIL IT DRIES UP!

We've actually been getting rain (ANY is good) this summer. It's crazy because the River and Creeks are high and stuff and last year at this time the entire state was on fire!

just about every creek and river around Charlotte is flowing over the banks now... streets were flooded yesterday and it's raining again today. We had a serious drought during 2001 and 2002. Couldn't build campfires or water anything without major fines. No danger of that happening this year.

Dbaby, I forgot we're neighbors! I am loving all this rain and coolness. After last summer...the fires...the hot and dry days and all the browns in this hellhole called Colorado, this green Spring is BEEEYOOTIFULL! I am loving it. :dancing: As far as I'm concerned, it could stay 70s all summer. (Except those nasty mosquitoes are vicious!) Peach

But no mosquitoes! We finally got rid of all these moths. For whatever reason there were 3 times as many as usual this year, and you honestly couldn't really see when you were trying to drive there were so many! But over night they just kinda went away. Weird!

Are you in Southern Colorado, dbaby? Or out West? It got up to maybe 60 degrees yesterday! It's like the June weather I remember from growing up.... unpredictable and more rain than usual. I love it. Last year was like a nightmare!! I hope those miller moths aren't heading our way.... I read in the paper they were expecting a very bad year but it's not bad where I live. Apparently it is elsewhere, but I think it's because Anna prayed. She said, "And God...please help it not to be the mother of all moth seasons." ;D No plague shall come nigh our dwelling! Peach

OK, sukka, I know it's 80 and nice over there but as usual in the east, it's another rainy weekend. I love The Temptations, I Wish It Would Rain but enoughs, enough. I want sunshine and blue skies, where are they. ;D Rain, Rain Go Away, I heard in all of May, in NY there were only three days of sunshine. I guess Ain't No Sunshine. :cursing: :crying:

Charlotte looked like the Mississippi Valley this weekend. Hundreds of families out of their homes due to major flooding. One of our main 8 lane roads had water flowing along like a river Saturday night - water up to the car windows. Police had to rescue a lot of people who got stranded. All this rain has caused a lot of huge sinkholes- even on major highways - some have even swallowed a few cars.
