Our rain has finally stopped....but, I must say, I miss it. It was so nice and cool..... 50s and 60s during the day. The thing about Colorado is....even if it's dreary, you know the sun is going to shine again soon. Now it's back to 80s this week....which is better than 90s, I guess. I like giving the A/C a rest, money-wise. I'm not sure where I could move that would be to my liking. I like cool, wet weather.....I don't even mind hot, humid days occasionally. But Seattle doesn't have enough sunshine to break up the cloudiness. If it was 70s year-round, I would be happy. ;D Anna, on the other hand, cannot handle humidity. It is hard on her lungs and breathing. And she loves snow. Colorado is okay for her, except in the summertime. Colorado is not okay for me....too dry. I'm thinking Canada somewhere. ;D ;D ;D Peach

I like giving the A/C a rest, money-wise. The first full summer month we lived in Texas I nearly had a heart attack when I received the electric bill. $400 for A/C. In New Jersey we did not even have an A/C in our house. Just a whole house fan in the attic and it pulled out all the hot air. Our highest electic bill there was around $75 a month.

$400!!!? Amazing............ I'm counting my blessings. I think our highest bill last summer was $70. But then, I don't run it all day...... 6 hours, at the most. Peach

Peach That was the one and ONLY time it was $400. Now I try and keep it under $200. We have to have it on all day or it would just be uncomfortable. I do not keep it as cool as most people - I keep it around 78 and keep the ceiling fans on.

Charlotte looked like the Mississippi Valley this weekend. Hundreds of families out of their homes due to major flooding. One of our main 8 lane roads had water flowing along like a river Saturday night - water up to the car windows. Police had to rescue a lot of people who got stranded. All this rain has caused a lot of huge sinkholes- even on major highways - some have even swallowed a few cars. for your viewing pleasure...

just about every creek and river around Charlotte is flowing over the banks now... streets were flooded yesterday and it's raining again today. We had a serious drought during 2001 and 2002. Couldn't build campfires or water anything without major fines. No danger of that happening this year. It rained so much while I was at school!! It's raining enough here, but it has slowed down considerably. We've had a total of 30 inches so far!! And that's not even counting the past two days. I'm just glad I live outside of the flood warning areas.

FOR THOSE OF YOU IN THE EAST AND SOUTH EAST AND SOUTH THAT GOT SO MUCH MOISTURE LATELY - MAYBE WE SHOULD CHANGE THE SONG TITLE TO---
