It's been said all over this board that Otis keeps the group going by selecting the best singers to continue the Temptations name. Now all of a sudden you're worried about his judgement.  :bs:They don't even believe that! |

Their both tremendous singers, no question. But did someone here say replace David?! I believe so. No one replaces David, no one replaces any of the classic 5!!!! They simpley are contributers, NOT replacements!!!!!!!!!! "There's only one David Ruffin!!"

They simpley are contributers, NOT replacements!!!!!!!!!! "There's only one David Ruffin!!" I said it and I stand by it. Dennis Edward replaced David Ruffin. Nothing wrong with that. David Ruffin replaced Elbridge Bryant...............so what's the fuss. Didn't say he was better or worse but the fact is he did replace him. Of all the replacements over the years, Dennis by far was the best............hands down no question. It doesn't make Dennis any less of a singer...........his legacy stands by itself and he's HOF...........and he's a replacement. ;D ;D |

 ...lol Aba, well.. you would know..and.. even tho *I* personally dont like that word regarding any of 'em... we all know that there is even proof.. Dennis said in the *Leads* movie himself.. we all heard and seen his mouth move and heard his voice saying it of himself.... ( I think its that word ..Replace....that some of us object to.. guess its something we have to live with LOL *s*) DRL.. if you can.. you really should get the Leads of the Temptations Video.. if you buy anything Tempts.. you need to get this one..this one wins .. everyone agrees agrees this is the one to get... its a documenatry type video... starts and ends with Ruffins real funeral, shows David with Eddie and Dennis and has Sevie Wonder and others talking about their memories with them.. gives little personal stories ... it is a HAVE TO HAVE for any Tempts fan.. but.. the only thing is I dont think you can buy it at a store.. unless there is some store called everything Tempts.. or everything Motown... far as I know its ONLY available online.. and I sure cant remember where online I got my copy.. I watched that 3x back to back when I got it.. it is too good for words.. .. it leaves me speechless.. soo put this one at the TOP of your list to get as a for real life talking and seeing those leads.. youll find out some interesting things....

Well I'll definately have to get that!! Aba, Coey's right, it's just the word "replace or replacement" I have a problem with, it makes it seem like David was easy enough to forget. Dennis made his own fit in the group, just like David. Neither is better then the other, they had their own contibutions to the group. Plus, I was just David(Leon) crazy last night....seriously I must have been on like a Cloud David(Leon) instead of Cloud Nine,lol. Thanks for the link to the video, I'll check it out....& BEG my parents probably till I turn blue =D

In the business I have been in for many years, each year another player replaces another.............nothing remains the same. I miss the C-5...............and Dennis didn't make me forget them. I mean nothing negative by my comments.....................if you break a window....you replace it....when David left the Temps would have been "broken" for lack of a better term. Dennis replaced the pane in the window. LOL
