Look, the more I read, the more I'm convinced nobody wants to read anything I have to type.
Okay. One more time. *clears throat (flexes fingers)* YOU said... Otis didn't have anything to do with what happened to the group. I said that he did because his name was signed on that paper that released David. My point is, that his signature was something. Would it help if I said that I didn't mean it seriously, but just that I was kind of trying to be facetious? Tongue-in-cheek. You know! 1$-)
I don't know. Kinda sounds like somebody who knows his limitations and needs other people to depend on (as far as a music career goes). He's never done anything else. Does he have any other marketable skills? Other than his little clothing line, which he probably wouldn't have if he wasn't a member of a world-famous group. Just me.
Just for the record, neither do I.
Where do I start?! You might have to wait until Otis has passed to hear good things from other people, but I have said--and here I thought you were paying attention--that I admire and respect the man for continuing the name. More than once. And on this board where you could read it.
I have also said that speaking ill of the dead is something I won't do because they cannot defend themselves. Since Mr. Franklin is no longer with us, I will not begin with him. I don't know who talks badly about Paul or David, but you're talking like it was me. And I KNOW it wasn't. ;D
Where? Where did I make it sound that way? I like to look over what I type either before or after I send it, and I don't believe I know where that particular sentiment came from. Let me know, all right?
I didn't say anything about David being in charge and if you notice I included neither him nor Dennis when I said that Otis may not have the name if there were others there to contest it. I said Paul and Eddie James (original members). That means that I kinda know that David didn't really have any "seniority," as you put it. You told me he had another agenda, one that was different from the group. If this wasn't what you were insinuating, then what was it?
This is becoming a trend... Okay, also didn't say that nor did I suggest that.
Sapia.
I believe Paul had just as much say in David's departure as anybody in the group.

He has never said he wanted to be the star. He has never asked for more leads. As a matter of fact he has said he isn't that comfportable in the lead. Now that sounds like a team player to me.

Just because the others are dead doesn't mean I expect more out of him.

So do I have to wait for Otis to die before something good is said about him? Since you don't speak ill of the dead.

I believe Paul has been talked about and he was dead when this board started. David has beem blamed and he was dead before this board started. So plenty of ill has been passed about some dead people on this board. Is Melvin any different?

You make it sound like it ok to beat on Otis just because he's alive.
Where? Where did I make it sound that way? I like to look over what I type either before or after I send it, and I don't believe I know where that particular sentiment came from. Let me know, all right?
One last thing: David was not put out of the group for wanting to be in charge. That wasn't gonna happen anyway. He was dismissed for other infractions according to sources. He was the last man in the group. He had no seniority so how could he be in charge? I hope you don't say because he sang lead.

Otis didn't kill them either not with his deeds or his words.

You know I meant Sapien! ;D
