Now you know, Aba, that I'm going for the Nets, but only because of what those Pistons did to my Sixers. ;D Somebody who knows: tell me about Kenyon Martin's tics. I saw them for the first time when he was talking to Cheryl Miller last week and I was alarmed at first but she didn't react so I figured these were normal. Is it a medical condition?

I was stil in NJ when he was drafted IRLM at the press conference we were told he had some kind of speech impediment and from what I have been seeing lately he is doing much better than he was three years ago when I first met him!

That's good to hear, because I really thought something was happening. Did he ever say if his condition had a name?

I'm going for the nets for a few reasons. Coach Byron Scott, Dikembe Motumbo, The fact that they are closest to NY and for Tim Bassett. But the Pistion beating the 6ers is a plus.

Boooooo! ;D
Nets and Spurs in the Finals. Probably going to be very boring, too.

Oops, my ma said it was Tourette's and I said it wasn't. I guess I'm just used to hearing people with TS making outbursts and things. Ma said Chris Jackson (can't remember his new Muslim name - Mahmoud Abdul Ra-something maybe) also had TS.

I'm conflicted for the finals. Kevin willis plays for the spurs, so I'd like to see him get a ring. On the other hand, bryon scott is coaching the Nets, so I have to root for him. I am also displeased with the dirty play of the spurs in 1997. They intentionally lost those games to get duncan. They were a great roster with very good players. It seemed the only one who wasn't on the take was Nique. Let's go Nets.

mavs play more like the basketball i like. the nets pistons game was ugly. defense is important, but in basketball, who wants a football score?
i won't ever argue with an 18 yr old. i know age does make a difference.irlm i tried to treat you as an equal but i was wrong. it seems that your mom is right , stick to the tempts, not rude personal attacks on 45 yr old ''elders''. it is strange.

And I guess a 45 year old also making rude personal attacks on an 18 year old isn't strange? You would think so. But I digress.
I thought this was a place where we were able to give opinions without being attacked. I guess not. I said I would let this go, and I dropped it because I felt you were being condescending. I did not intend for this to turn into a sukkafu vs. iratherlikeme argument, but some folks like to take it there. I'm sorry, Ivory, and whoever else had to read this mess, that it got to this point. I tried to be polite and as respectful as my mama taught me.
So, FOR THE LAST TIME, this issue is no longer an issue.

the former Chris Jackson was that player. Your mom is right IRLM. His never masnifested itself in his speech as much as it does Kenyon Martin.

Ma said Chris Jackson (can't remember his new Muslim name - Mahmoud Abdul Ra-something maybe) also had TS. IRLM - Tourette's Syndrome comes in various degrees. The outbursts and cursing are extreme symptoms. Most people with TS don't have the severe form. My son has TS, but all he ever had were minor facial tics and some grunting noises, which started when he was about 8 years old. He took medication for it until he was about 16, when he outgrew most of the symptoms. He's 26 now, and every once in a while if he's overtired or stressed, he might exhibit a facial tic for a short while, but it goes away quickly.

I think with chris it was more towards repetative behavior kind of like Jack N. in as good as it gets. Repetitive motions and facial tics. those types of things.
