Wake Forest alumnus Tim Duncan - MVP with 37 points tonight!! Say goodnight, Kobe. I'm not a San Antonio fan - just a fan of anybody BUT the Lakers.

Oh, don't worry. The Lake Show will be back. It's time to reload and refocus. If they do it the right way, even Jermaine O'Neal, Gary Payton and even JKidd may not be enough. If ya know what I mean.

soulstirrer- back after 15 yr absence! last time we heard from you was in 1989 when you were inducted into the hall with the tempts!
i figured it was bogus that nobody posted but me when the lakers were clawing back in- but the bandwagoners jumped in when they lost.
i'm not sad. the real championship was played. it's anticlimactic now. the spurs won in 99, the lakers won the next 3 straight, take away injuries ,it would be 4 straight, but, nevertheless, spurs have to beat mavs/or kings-then the west will crush the east.
mike started this thread and yet he has been awfully silent lately! has he lost faith in his sixers?

Sixers have heart, a lot of heart. If they can get performance they can beat Motown.
As for the Lake Show, sometimes you don't realize what they have until you lose it. And believe it, the Spurs didn't think they were going to win it until the Lake Show ran out of gas.
Free agents should be thinking about coming to Staples, because Crazy Eight and the MDE will be on a mission. And I heard a rumor, so crazy and off the wall, that it can't be done, since it makes no sense, but it is intriguing.

hey, the kings showed heart by beating dalls twice since c -webb has been injured. now they must do it again in order to advance. shades of portland.
spurs usually destroy dallas because they don't play run and gun so it should be another 1999.

I actually have nothing against the Lakers I used to love them I just don't want them to win because I despise Kobe Bryant and his cocky attitude. What made my day was seeing Kobe cry! I laughed out loud! I really dislike that guy. ;D "Showtime" Magic, Kareem, James Worthy, Byron Scott (my baby), AC Green, Cooper or Mychal Thompson took their beating like a man when they lost. I mean SUCK IT UP KOBE you lost because you played lousy. The only person who came to play last night was Shaq. The "Lakeshow" is waaaay overated they will never come close to the greatness and dignity that "Showtime displayed"! Afterall it was "Showtime" that opened up the floodgate of repeat champions after a 20 year absence. I'm in Houston so my fav team is the Rockets however I started rooting for the Spurs the moment they acquired Tim Duncan. He is the best player in the league I remember the way he lit things up in 99. I want the Nets to win the finals (Go Byron) but if they don't I hope the Spurs are the champions this year.

Not jumping on the bandwagon, Sukkafu - I never commented about the Lakers before because I don't like to 'talk trash' about any team. I just have never been a fan of theirs. I was a Celtics fan during the Parrish/McHale/Bird era - then I supported the Hornets to support my 'home' team. I often root for the underdog just to see a little twist and excitement in the game. Once Charlotte has a team again... I'll support them.

i always rooted for the other teams when the celtics played - but i had lots of love and respect for bill russell- loved those wars with wilt and him.
i was raised a knicks fan but i started loving the lakers when wilt joined them. wilt was my favorite growing up. then i liked kareem and then magic and i have been liking the lakers since 1970.
i like the underdog, too. that's why i have been a clippers fan since they went to l.a. in 1984. when they play the lakers i even root for them because they always lose.
i have been a kings fan when i lived in northern cal. i don't like c webb but i admire his talent. i do like them to win because they're not favored.
anybody but the spurs! except i love david robinson to death! what a classy, clean cut, humble, community serving guy- can i get a witness-ABA? YOU LIVE THERE!

Lakers lost?! HA HA!! I'm sorry, I had to act like a rude little child for a minute. You do not understand how much that news made my week yesterday. I thought it was weird myself when some posters--no names, you understand--talked about how GOOD the Lakers were and how this was the year for the 4-peat, but as soon as they were eliminated out of the playoffs, I started reading excuses as to why they couldn't get this inevitable job done. ;D Sixers are out ; they were my East team, but since the Kings forced a Game 7 last night I'm looking to them to keep my interest up in this postseason. It's been said that without C-Webb the Kings getting to the Finals is impossible, but I gotta have some faith. To dream the impossible dream To fight the unbeatable foe To bear with unbearable sorrow...

By the way, mmy favorite Spur in NBA history is Dominique Wlikins. Who got robbed of the NBA Top 50. He played when the Spurs did the ugliest and phoniest season by a team in NBA history just to get Tim Duncan. But Nique still came to play.
