kings were losers tonight as well, but gave a valiant effort. i think the lakers will win game 6 in l.a, then game 7 will be anybody's guess. rick fox would've helped tremendously, but you get what you get.
kings gave a great effort tonight, but dallas broke it open. the next game is in sacramento and i think it will be a dogfight .

Kings can do it! But it's gonna be tougher without Webber in there playin. That Lakers game was good. That was one of the first Laker games I actually was interested in watching! (Except when they're playin against my teams)

That was a good game, and that shot that Hooray took, on any other night-that shot would have went in. I think the Lakers will win game six but who knows what's up for game seven?

[glow=red,2,300]Hornets Fans Seeing Owners True Colors[/glow] By Sean Deveney - Sporting News Hornets fans in the Big Easy are getting a taste for why the team's owners, George Shinn and Ray Wooldridge, were not well-liked in Charlotte.
The dismissal of Paul Silas is puzzling on the surface, but Silas and ownership have clashed on issues such as salary (he asked for a raise to $2 million) and his rift with power forward Derrick Coleman. Still, that a coach like Silas -- the only coach to get production from players such as power forwards Jerome Moiso and Robert Traylor -- could get away reflects badly on ownership.
And when Silas was let go, all he got was a short call from Wooldridge, prompting Silas to walk over to Shinn's house (he lives a few doors down) and ring the doorbell. When someone inside turned off the chime on the doorbell, Silas knocked on the door until Shinn's son finally answered and said his father was in the shower.
Silas will get his revenge, though, because he is believed to be the top candidate for the Toronto and Cleveland jobs. He is discussing the Clippers' vacancy with GM Elgin Baylor. Atlanta and Washington, if Doug Collins leaves, are also possibilities. ...

That's not how it happened, is it?
I remember Eric Snow making a three at around 13 seconds or something like that, putting it up 77-76, I think. The Pistons used their last timeout and inbounded from half-court. The 76ers had one foul to give so they fouled and that left something like 5 or 6 seconds left on the clock. On the next play, some guy went on a break towards the basket, got the ball from the guy passing it in, completely outran McKie and tossed up this prayer. It went in a little bit, came back out, and then was going in again. I suppose Coleman thought it was coming out so he wanted to grab the rebound but he ended up sticking his hand up through the bottom of the net and getting a goaltending call. So the final score was 78-77.
Or something like that.

the lakers had too many hills to climb this year. they lost shaq early, made too many comebacks this year.
when rick fox and devean george got hurt, i knew it was over.
horry's shot the other night was the story in a nutshell- climbing back like the heart of a champion, but falling short like the wounded animal.

You can't win the title every year. they have more rings than anyone left in the playoffs combined. It was a great run while it lasted. Seeing Kobe in tears like that showed me how much he cares about winning and playing hard every night. Congrats to the Spurs........they were the better team this time!!!!!!

Here's the deal, simply...
You can't continue to always wait until the last minute to do your thing. The Lakers got caught. And it's a good thing for them and the association. Why?
Had the Lakers won this thing, it would've rendered the entire regular season as meaningless. That's a slap in the face to every fan, paying or non-paying. It would also encourage other teams not to put out such effort.
The easiest way to win is to be consistently great. With all of the things going on this season, there was no consistency. So when they got in trouble, there was no plan PJ and his coaches could count on. How can you plan when you don't know who or what your team is?
Meanwhile: Memo one to the Most Dominant Ever. You need to come in October, in shape and ready to play. Pacing yourself is one thing; we can all understand that, the season is too long. But you have to be ready and you have to understand what to do. You might have to sacrifice some of your power, in order to be more efficient.(Like setting picks, rebounding more, playing the high post and passing as the triple post sometimes demands). As you get older, it's not about just you anymore. Cause when you look up and #13 and #33, that's what they did.
Memo two to Crazy Eight: You need to run the offense. What did EJ tell you, play like him instead of MJ. You'll still get yours and still be unbeatable. Stop being hard headed, you'll get yours. If you run the offense, you won't have to work so hard. Why do you think Tex yells at you so much? And stay with your man on D.
But he has the fears that a lot of people have and that points directly at us as a whole. And I'm waiting for the right thread to unload on that point.
Memo three to Pimp Daddy, You ain't Hef. Stop trying to be like him. Stop trying to run your business on the cheap. You're making $$$, hand over fist, so you've got to spend to get the bling-bling. Yes, you do. Why do you think Zeke really left? He knew exactly what was going to happen, and you didn't show him the proper love anyway.
And if you're tired and just want to chill with your honeys, do what the Don did with Mikey, turn it over because you can't do it anymore, you can't make THE decision to save the family. And you know who to give it to, because that person would do the job.
I'm thru with hoops this year, now it's hardball time.
