Sukka, your point please?
Why should I care about them when they don't care when I am suffering? Besides I don't think you understand how beautiful winter is to keep downing it. A lot of people including me were disappointed we in Richmond and central Virginia didn't get the forecasted 10-15 inches. It is winter after all, I certainly wish you stop trying to take it away or make it as bland and awful as the rest of the seasons. It is a treat you don't understand. I am happy that at least it's white, the street is white, the sidewalks are white and I wish I had a camera to take picture. It is a beautiful scene. It is the only time the normal landscape is changed temporarily. They can deal with the snow like I have to deal with severe thunderstorms, tornado watches and warnings, the threat of hurricanes, and oppressive hot and hazy days that stay for at least 3 months straight. So again, why should I care about them if they don't care about me? Forgive me for being selfish but I suffer for months, they suffer for a day or two. So let them cry me a river; I hope it freezes.
Besides Sukka, you don't speak for all of them. Some people enjoy a snow day off. Even if I were traveling and were stuck somewhere, I'd still love the white stuff. Ohhh it's too cold... well put more clothes on! When it's summer I can't go anywhere naked. My mother is as disappointed as I am and she HATES winter and in the summer 100 degrees is not enough for her. She wanted to see the foot of snow. It's something different.
earthangel, northern Va got snow. We got sleet and a mix. We have about 4" of sleet! I can walk on top of this stuff without making a dent and it's so hard to remove. Snow is better than sleet and freezing rain. At least in snow you have some traction and you can play in it. Those places that got all snow are lucky. Winchester got 30" That might be too much but I wanted a foot... at least it'll be around for a week. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40's with sun but it probably won't be until Wednesday or Thursday before we see the street again. I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can before things become ho-hum again.
What I enjoy about snowfall is how silent, gracefully, and soothing it drifts through the air. The air is quiet and it has a distinctive scent. At night everything glows. There's nothing like it. I'm tired of grinches and those who can't stand back to admire the wonder that is snow.
But as long as there is something frozen, white covering the landscape with a few inches, I will be happy! I wish I hadn't said that... snow is the best. I will be happy though because I had fun outside still. It's still white and improves the landscape.
tdallas, I'd love to be snowbound with the Tempts! The Blind Boys of Alabama's concert here was canceled until another time.
Now my rant is over.
Snow = Special Never Oppressive Wonder
