I think they get hospital "edibles" (lets not even call it food) from the same place they get cafeteria edibles. . And Sukka, whoever said you couldn't talk to your father was very wise. This would be one case where laughter probably isn't the best medicine.

When I was in the hospital back in November I think it was, the food was pretty good! Well, I only had broth, but I had an omlet before I went home and that was good. But I always thought that hospital food was supposed to be gross!

maybe the hospital is just drumming up business - the sagging ecomony is rough on us all

dad is weak as a newborn kitten, but they might release him on sunday or monday to go home. he is scared because he feels like nothing but sleep and worries that at home he won't have a doctor monitoring his every heartbeat. he's got a long road to recovery.

So when they release you to go home, do you have to go home?

absolutely- they don't believe in hospital stays like the old days. they want you to start walking around immediately, or rehab at home and have a outside nurse visit you. many surgeries today are outpatient and require no stay at the hospital.

UPDATE- dad is not doing well. he's got pressure problems, and he's got too much water retention. it's already the 16th now and he's still in the same room, in ICU, and hasn't started rehab yet. he's having difficulty walking, and when he coughs, it's like having shaq jump full force on your chest. he was supposed to go home last week, but there's no timetable yet for his rehab or release.

Sukka- We're all praying for your Dad and the rest of the family. Wish we could all be together to wrap our arms around you at this difficult time. Remember, God answers prayers! We love you and are here for you.
