First off.. I have to say.. Kalisa.. THEO IS FINE!!!!!![glow=red,2,300][/glow] You are so right!!!!!.. Sorry.. Aba.. his name might be Theo.. but his real name is THEO - FINE!!!I have got to agree with kalissa on this one!..He has got to be the sexiest man on this earth in all of TIME! Sorry David Sea fans,, but I havent seen him in person yet.. so it is absolutley THEO FINE! My God! I had to post this and get it off my chest!. Now.. that I said that.. I'll do another from the chicken scratch I did in the back of O's book in the DARK on the Tops and Tempts!

Man!!!!  I just spent the last 50 minutes.. typing the first 1/2 of my review and got the blue screen!!!!! It was The Tops first.. and I had just finished that part.. and wanted to step outside for Cig cuz I was getting a "little warm" re living the first 1/2 of the Concert.. Ill start again.. cuz I know some of you are gonna wake up and expect to see it!.. |

Here I go again......
We arrived just before 7pm.. (altho .. this is the 2nd go-round.. its not going to be as juicy as the first one i typed) I have pics of the marqee and the start of the crowd gathering.. but I have to wait till I fugure out this camera I borrowed from work.
We waited for about 15 minutes or so before they let us in the door.. They finally opened up.. As my daughter and I were just walking around, we came to this.. what I call a Carne Table. I used to work a carnival for a couple of summers in the the early-mid 70'smaybe it was a little later.. I dont know right now.. so I guess you could call it a Sales table, forgive me.. I dont go to many concerts so I dont know what its called.. no one was checking out the goods at this table.. so I started talking to the two guys there..Im telling you this because it comes up again during the Tempts part of the Review. So here we are just chit chatting.. and I tell these two guys.. hey.. wheres the Legacy Cd.. ya know.. someone really needs to promote this CD.. Im shocked its not here.. (edited: as im talking. I pull out my cd.. and book out of my purse, justi thinking that these guys dont know what Im talking about.. and said,, well anyway.. I got mine) and one of the guys responded well ya know.. new ownership.. was taken over by someone new.. etc.. This one guy is trying to sell me this "Smooth Jaz CD" So, what the hell.. Ii take the bait and buy it.. the guy was kinda cute.. had a little sweet aura thing going on around him.... the other guy with him takes my $10.00.. I start asking about the T shirt that has the Tempts shadows.. and why isnt it here.. but that I liked this tan one ( which I have on right now) it has the C-5 on it.. and on the back has a brief history of yearly hits.. I find out this other guy.. not the CD Jazz guy, is from Sheboygan, WI.. Well thats just a hop skip and jump from where I grew up in Milw. we talk about Milwaukee.. etc.. I didnt buy the shirt but I told he'll have to catch me me after the show..and he said he cant tackle me after the show.. jump over the table and make me come back to the table to buy a t-shirt.. And with that I brought up memories of when I used to work graveyard at this greasy spoon called "George Webb's"everywhere on just about every corner in Milw.. and how I had to jump the counter quite a few times to get someone to pay their bill. Well now.. that table is starting to get some business.. we told him "Later.." etc.. and just kind of hung out at one of those tall cocktail table like tables and grabbed a couple bottles of water IT was a pretty warm night here last night.. speaking weather wise.. Finally at 730 we can go get seated.. The show started promptly at 8pm.. The radio DJs came up.. talked a little.. then announced the Tops first.. Theo came out alone, in a Med. Blue pants..and and a VERY SHINEY SILVERY/Blue? Jacket.. I wasnt expecting that.. very nice....very nice.. very nice!. no ..I didnt notice what color his shoes were *s* He started singing.. a song that I really never liked.. but for some reason.. everyone tries to sing it.. I think Donna Summer was the only one I have ever heard that did it justice "Someone left the cake out.. in the rain...and I dont think that I can take it.. took so long to bake it " song.. but you know what.. He did it good.. better then I expected.. but like I said.. I dont know why EVERYONE tries singing that song.. I dont know.. maybe its a favor to someone or something that everyone sings that dang song.. ( Im going to post this because I have no idea how much I can put on here.. Maybe thats why I got the blue death screen earlier.. but. I have to say again.. other then Donna Summer.. Theo did a good job on that dang song.

All of a sudden... I dont know where they came from.. all I know is that the rest of the Tops were right there.. Looking the same as Theo..Medium blue pants with the Shiney Silver Jacket! They went right into Baby I Need your loving and then Bernadette... The crowd finally got a clue and was getting into it and started singing along.. and clapping...... Then Theo started the "Same Ole Song.. but with a different..." song.. sorry.. I do like the Tops.. I just cant remember some names of the songs.. but I can sure sing them!!.. Now according to my notes taken in the dark.. Im lucky I found the back page of O's book to write on and can actually read some of my writing!.. I think the next song was "StillWater"... my apologies.. prob isnt the real name. .. Theo then went into.. "She used to be my girl".. ya just wanted to run up there and tell him .. it would be ok.. !! it was that good! Now.. during that song I think .. He dropped his towel.. he did not miss a beat with the others in the line up dancing when he picked it up!.. Next one.. It was awesome... " Aint Nobody like the one I got".. just awesome.. .. Now after that one.. Theo spoke to the guys in the crowd.. telling them that if they cant sing to their ladies.. they better buy her a Mercedes and she will sing.. that cracked everyone up.... now.. at this point.. Theo took his shiny jacket off... lots of screaming from the audience on that one.. like I said.. He was HOT!! And then.... and Then..(hehehe)...The band got quiet.. It was just THEO.. with NO MIC. .I cant remember what he sang.. but He DID NOT sing into the mic. and we ALL heard him.. and it was good.. it was soo good!. he was awesome... I had to put my hand on my chest.. and I just forgot to breathe!!.. that was soo cool..!

Theo did that a couple of times after that.. and each time.. I really think I forgot to breathe! k.. after the first time he did that.. one of the group came over to his right and started fanning him with a towel.. then another came on the other side of him fanning him SO he had one on each side.. fanning him with a towel.. I hope we got a pic of that!. I dont know what he sang during that.. but it had the crowd going! I think it was about that time.. that I finally saw what kalissa been talking about!! He is definatly THEO FINE and thats the only way to say.. and its sticking.. Theo Fine.. and I told my daughter.. man.. I want him to come home with ME!!.. this was so cool.. remember now, I have NEVER seen him .. just pictures.. so I have now been officially THEO-ized!.. ok.. next song.. "Reach Out" then "Standing In The Shadows of Love".. every one stood up and danced and really got into that one!!.. They ended with.. "Suger Pie Hunny Bunch".. and then they were gone... man I needed a breather after that.. and I need one now!!! Be Right Back with the Tempts
* faints* It would be really hard to beat this night Tempts sure looked so awesome, happy and tight , smiling.. they looked like they were having SUCH A GOOD TIME! tonight!!!.. ( to be continued)...

okay.. now .. hear we go!!!! I have so many pictures.. TONS.. ( I hope they all turn out.. I will just kick myself if they dont.. my daughter took all lthe pictures.. with the digi cam borrowed from work. Get this.. The Tempts orchestra started playing. it was my daughters clue to get the Video corder going..She pulled out the cam corder.. put it on her lap.. leaned over it.so no one would see the lite. ( Its a small one.. kind of like a little sony burn a DVD right there kind).. and man.. I dont know how the heck it happened.. one of the ushers came right over and asked her for it.. she said no.. it was hers.shes not giving it up,. then he asked very nicely for the battery to be picked up after the show.. sooo I guess ya cant do a Video.. sorry.. but we still had the digi cam from work.you can do cameras *s*. There wre quite a few pple with cameras.. both digi cam and regular cameras like instamtics..he had no problem with us doing that.. Ya learn something new everyday.. k.. They all came out together... in ..... The lavender suit, !!white shirt.. white hanky in pocket.. and lavender shoes.. VERY Nice.. VERRRRY NICE.. THey looked so good!!!!!*I made note to look at the shoes for you shoe people* I've noticed in here some people are kind of into the shoes that the Tempts wear.why.. I dunno.. its shoes!..They all looked WONDERFUL!!!!! I was in awe.. It looked to me that EVERYONE stood up at that time.. just clapping.. and hollering!! Even just them coming out on stage like that.. That did it for me!! after I found my voice I told my daughter.. did you get that shot.. did you get that one... pestering the dickens out of her!!.. Now my notes for the Tempts are on the very last page of O's book. Tops was were on the 2nd to last page, and I definatly see a difference in the my handwriting.. I dont know if I can make it all out...But I will give it my best shot.. I really didnt feel like writing stuff down so that I could remember things.. but its ok... I wanted to do this. Their first song was :"Can't get next to you".. the crowd is still standing and clapping and screaming....Next one.. was "The way You do the things you do" that one got me! My eyes started watering a little bit. just a little bit now.. here I was.. Finally after all these years.. just SEEING THEM and then hearing them in person. oh man.. I will never have a moment like that again.. about this time.. I noticed someone up there a little familiar. I keep looking at this guy at on my right on the stage.. I think my daughter noticed it the same time I did.. It was the guy from the carne table with the smooth jazz CD.. !! we look at each and say.. "Isn't that.. that that guy?  ? lo & behold... it was.. what a sneaky dude.( I say sneaky because when we were talking he ACTED like oh , who.. The Temptations.. who's that.. so I thought he was just someone hired to work the table and was just doing his job. selling.. and opening up the cd's)... not saying anything about this when we were talking to him!.. here we were chit chatting with him at that carne table.. and he turns out to be the Tempts conductor..now some of you probably know this. I didnt. His CD is called "Is It Love.. AL MCKINZE" I listened to it on the way home.. its good.. its very smooth.. I like that. very good little investment especially for not know what the heck I was buying! and only bought it cuz this guy has this nice sweet thing going on. Now when he sold that CD to me .. he didnt autograph it because that other guy at the carne table did the sale, and "AL" was busy trying to open up all of those CDs.. so afterwards.. I went up to get my t-shirt.. and I called him on it.. something like.. staring right at him while he had LOTS of pple wanting to buy stuff.. ( bobbin my head up & down) saying yep.. aha... I see how ya are now.. ok... aha...was your first customer and you didnt even sign it.. and laffing.. etc.. anyway. he signed it. That guy must have RAN off the stage at the end of the Tempts and went to go work that table!!!.. I recomend it. its nice for those mellow sit back listening moods.. k. now back to the TEMPTS!!!! |

THey were so tight tonight.. course.. I have no idea if they felt they were.. but THEY SURE WERE!!! AS im trying to see thru these eyes that were watering just a little bit more.. and what do they do next!!! ATPTB!!!!. I almost lost it there.. I Thought for sure.. the real good ones they would be doing them fast like on the Live Harrahs video.. nope.. it was done PERFECT!!! Ill say it again.. PERFECT!!!! JUST PERFECT!!!!!.. I was trying to detect something.. anything.. Ruff would have been proud!!!!.. Here i am.. kind of wiping my eyes.. and what comes next.. Ball of Confusion.. .. thats never been a super favorite of mine.. its been good.. THEY DID IT AWESOME TONIGHT.. And what happens next? ? WISH IT WOULD RAIN.. I had to sit down.. or I was really gonna faint... I couldnt believe it.. Im still .. I dondt know.. My eyes are getting a little wet right now just thinking about it!!!!and then..... TYson. ..Just my imagination.. OMG.. DONT EVER MISS A TEMPT CONCERT, DO NOT MISS ONE!!!I think by this time.. everyone was getting quiet.. THey took you from Yeehaaaa allright!, snappin, dancin !! to shush up... listen.. back to.. clapping and dancin again!!!! it was BETTER THEN ... well....you know.. I think i sat down again for the next one.. "Papa...." even tho he wasnt there.. I thought about Mr. Dennis Whoop Whoop.. couldnt help it!.. Next was "get Ready".. I swear I will never let a Tempts concert pass me by no matter where I am living again, if it will be where I live. I WILL go again! Even if it means selling my first born!!! ( edited: Im SO GLAD THAT OTIS KEPT IT GOING AND DID WHATEVER IT TOOK....SO I COULD FINALLY SEE THEM!!!!!!) THANK YOU OTIS!!!!!! AND EVERYONE INVOLVED IN KEEPING IT GOING!!! Next Otis was talking.. ya know.. I think the only time I heard O talk is on Legacy..( Correction: I forgot that he spoke on the Harrahs vhs )he talked quite a bit.. nice voice too.. especially LIVE. He looked really happy tonight. and sounded excited and really into it.. He talked about how good Seattle was to the Tempts.. how long hes been doing this... and of course a little sales pitch.. I though t for sure they were going to play Mr. Fix it.. because he mentioned Legacy.. and what Mr. Fix it was about.... I thought for sure they would have sung it.. ( Unless I missed it somehow threw my semi blurry wet eyes adn taking notes.. and asking my daughter to take more pics.. take more pics hurry.. get that.. get this.. hahahah) NOw Im looking at my notes.. all I have down is "Joe spoke.O --> "cause and Effect" cheering yelling.. I for the life of me.. cant remeber what was said.. I know it was funny.. !!) |

Next in line was a song off of Phoenix .. I dont have that one.. guess Im gonna get it right?? *s*It is on my amazon wish list..I think it was called "Believe in Love..??(edited: "Stay" ) my notes are so horrible right now!!!Then.. I dont know... if they were kidding or if something really happened.. ? Im lost.. maybe someone can find out... something about before the show..Terry and the great big security guard.. something about he grabbed Terry? .. and they were all pointing to the sec. guard.. I know I was like what the.. huh??? hoping what is was starting to sound like wasnt what I thought I heard. Im still puzzled by that.. Ya DONT mess with MY TEMPTS!! I tried to see if my daughter heard better what was said.. but she said she was too busy taking all the pics. .. maybe it was part of the show.. I dunno.. I know I didnt get a good feeling about that part. and what I could make out what was said. Okay.. now.. came the introductions.. everyone was clapping for everyone.. ( thats when I knew for sure that that guy was the guy at the "carne table") Next came a little set of "Who wants to be like the Jones'.. That was good.. Involved the audience.. man no one told me a TEMPTS Concert was gonna be like this!!!.. They are just soo good!!! I know i just missed or confused a few songs.. but I really cant read my writing.. its near the bottom of the page and its not very legible at all!!!and I ran out of room to write.. so I made little arrows.. to what came next . Oh!! Terry did "Since I lost my Baby".. He is sooo a honey pie..... All the ladies got asked to stand up...and what do you thing the next song was.......Girls alright With Me!.. So we are all.. singing clapping shouting... now .. ya gotta forgive me.. you serious fans who have been foloowing this forever know more about all this then me.. now.. so give me a break.. I know I SHOULD know this.. and it was familiar.. but dam if i can remember the real title I have written down:and this is exactly what I wrote: Walk on by/I feel unfaithful/forgive me I dont know.. its familiar.. I already was floating on air 30 minutes earlier seeing these guys.. I did the best I could.hahahahahah!!! The last two songs were "Beautys Only skin deep". and "MY GIRL", the audience is so into them. screaming!!!. I STILL have goose bumps!!! and I cant believe that I have actually FINALLY seen THEM.. I can now say I have accomplished something that I have ALWAYS ALWAYS wanted to do..30 some years later but They really are the BEST.. They still owe me tho.. just a little bit *s*.. for all that punishment I got for listening to them in 68-69, all the IRONING I had to do, the whole dang families Ironing.. including the step-dad's stupid hankys.. all the dishes and cleaning I had to do as part of my grounding for going from Im a little teapot straight to the TEMPTS and MOTOWN at 12 years old in 68.. and that dang Piece of wood hanging by the kitchen sink. .was also part of the punishment.. but ya know.. most have been thru worse.. I won in the end.. I GOT TO SEE THE TEMPTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. hahah they prob have no idea or they might have heard similar thru the years.. I dont know.. I dont care.. I'm happy as a clam.. and I wish I knew of an after hours out here in Seattle.. cuz Im not tired! IF I've forgotten something. Ill post it tomorrow , modify it.. tomorow when calm down from this,I'll read what I wrote with all my ramblin on.. but Aba, you wanted a review from a rookie.. you got it.. un-edited and without thinking.. just typin away!!! and here it is 3 hours or so AFTER THE FACT!!! ( and Im a fairly fast typist!!! Oh BTW.. I DID HOLD UP THE "STILL TEMPTING" sign I made... my CD.. My book... quite a few times.. I dont think it caught any of their eyes!!! |

Coey...Coey...Coey!!!!! Why don't you try to enjoy the dang concert, huh? That was great. I love to hear people go to a show and just totally enjoy themselves. You didn't care who was in the group, who sang what, the names of the songs or anything else but you enjoyed the show and that's what its all about. I really got into your review taken from someone who waited a long time to see the Tempts and was not dissappointed!!!!!!!! Great job!!!! ;D And for the record...................I never said THeo wasn't fine. ;D..........it ain't my place or my nature cause I don't go that way. ;D .but it ain't his name...................it's THeo Peoples and he 's a hell of a singer.....shouda stayed a Temp as far as I'm concerned.  |

Aba... (shakin my head..) I Loved it.. I should have mentioned more names.. I was so there!! It was just so EXTREMELY GOOD And I still havent SLEPT YET!!! I tried.. Lord knows I tried to for about 2 hours.. I just couldnt sleep.. got up.. did some editing on my review.. fixing some typos.. just finished it.. now.. just re living last night .. Im not tired.. I could go on for another 24 hours just thinking about last night!!! ;D ya know.. I couldnt help but think.. why did Theo go with the Tops.. and didnt stay with the Tempts.. I have no clue.. havent read anything.. he is a great singer and the hotest man I think I have ever seem.. including my movie favs Leon and DB.. sorry Leon and DB.. but Theo is #1. and O.. man.. he was great last night.. all this "other talk" I don't care.. I was impressed, VERY impressed.. GC, Tyson, Joe,Terry, O.. I was blown away! IF they come back to the Paramount.. I KNOW where I will be sitting.. Way on the right or on the left.. I want to shake some hands!!! Theo left the Temptations for personal reasons. When Levi Stubbs suffered a stroke they asked Theo to replace him thinking Levi might be back. I sure hope he does but it doesn't look like it and Theo seems to be more comfortable every day with the Tops......but to me he is a Temptation through and through.............. ;D Actually Theo took Laurence Payton's place who passed away......then they added Ronnie McNeir when Levi had the stroke and THeo moved into the lead slot because he had the star quality it takes to do the job!!!!! |

 :DHow Fun!! ^5 on the Theofine and McBarfer Park...I agree!!  And I don't like they way they lead off with that song, it puts me to sleep at its very BEST, even with Theo doing it. But thats just My Own Opinion, not helped by never liking the song by Donna Summer, Richard Harris or anybody else on the planet. I'm so glad you LOVED the show and finally got to see the TEMPTATIONS! Your review really brought us all there! Thanks!! ummmm...on that one song that you couldn't name, about being unfaithful...could that have been "All I need" (a Ruffin-lead classic)? "Oh this heart of mine, carries a heavy load, when I think about how I've hurt you so. After you've been, been so good to me, I've been unfaithful darlin', and caused you misery..." something like that?
