Well, Let's see. The show was awesome. It was wonderful seeing Dennis. I must say that Chris really impressed me. He gave and excellent performance. Dennis, was the Dennis I always thought he would be, But he let me down. I wanted to hear "Masterpiece" "A Song For You" "Runaway Child" "Cloud 9" "Psychedelic Shack" and hid other tunes. I wanted to hear Dennis.
Another Person who prove a good singer was David Sea. The guy has a good voice. He's kinda corny, like Maurice Watts, but he has a good voice. He's a Tenor Alright and was able to showcase some of his own style. But I thought he would do more. He seemed like he had "bit." It was a bit that many talented tenors can do. I wanted to see him do amazing things with it, but it was cool. Dennis must really enjoy having him.
The show had a few number I was very pleased to see. "Why You Wanna Make Me Blue" "Beauty's Only Sking Deep" and "Don't Look Back."
The most enjoyable part of the show was how everybody was able to sing along. It's nice to see a show where everybody knows the words. The only songs that stumped the crowd were "Stay" and "Standing On The Top."
The most touching part of the show was Dennis speaking on the loss of His BROTHERS. He trult seemed broken up. Truly hurt and mournful. Dennis takes his joy with great pleasure and seriousness. I think he values his life and what he does.
But the standout Performer once again was Chris. He has such a smooth voice. It's got an odd tone, which is perfect. Eddie had an odd tone. Both have such odd tones that they are exciting to hear. Chris' tones is tinny. He tore up the show on every solo. He nailed, You're my everything.
Mike, is a great bass. Dennis got lucky. The only thing Mike needs now, are some drugs or something. He's too stiff. Maybe Harry can help him out.

D-a-n-g Cheech/Hype/Mario
I went to the 7:00pm show and wound up meeting MIKENYC backstage with Dennis & The Review.
Their first show was outstanding! They opened with 'Standing On The Top' and then moved right into 'Hello Young Lovers'. Man, the band and the horn section made that one sound JUST like the record from 'A Mellow Mood'. Every song they played sounded like the original recording, just about. I was blown away with 'Don't Look Back' They performed that just like 'Live At The Roostertail' album. Bernard Gibson sang lead but I thought he sounded too much like Richard Street singing 'Don't Look Back'. I think David Sea would have made the song sound more authentic.
Speaking of David Sea (sorry Cheech) but I was highly impressed with his vocals. I gotta be honest, he sounds more like Ali Woodson than David Ruffin. We spoke briefly and he made mention of a solo CD waiting to be released. The brother can blow.
Mr. Mike Petillo does a good job on bass. I enjoyed his rendition of 'Rainy Night In Georgia'; he throw a mean bottom in that song (IVORY ARE YOU LISTENING ;D ) Mike is also very wasy to talk to, I found him very humble.
The Review does an excellent job in keeping the Classic Five and HOF6 material in it's pure form. I hope I can catch them in February.
Well, gotta run to a gig this afternoon. The Channels will be at the Holiday Inn on exit46 on the Long Island Expwy and I have to be there at 2:30pm

Man,I asked you if you were going,I didn't get a reply,we could have hung out. I met up with Curet30,it was like we knew each other since birth. He showed me that he was not just an average JOE ! ;D We went backstage with Dennis,David Sea, Curet& myself had a good time. Curet told Dennis that he admired him for paying tribute to the Tempts who have passed on. Dennis gave them their props, saying that they helped him be what he is. We told him that he helped them, too. But he was having none of that. Cheech,Dennis and Chris did Rudolph ,The Red Nosed Raindeer in the dressing room acapella....and another Christmas song that escapes me now. But Man....I wish you would have answered me,you would have been right there with Curet30 & Myself. This show was a benefit for the High School and the students that were there, were greatfull that the TEMPTATIONS,as they called them...did the show for them. I was surprised that the kids knew the lyrics, meaning Dennis has a new generation of fans. Songs 1) Standing On The Top 2)Beauty's Only Skin Deep 3)Get Ready 4)Ain't Too Proud To Beg 5) My Baby 6) Rainy Night In Georgia 7)Papa Was A Rolling Stone 8) Don't Look Back 9) You're My Everything 10)Lady Soul 11)I Wish It Would Rain 12)Girl,Why You Wanna Make Me Blue 13) The Way You Do The Things You Do 14)God Bless America 15)My Girl 16) Stay 17) Just My Imagination I thought I was at the Apollo back in the seventies, hearing actual SCREAMS from the audience. I was in the wings...(No, I was not singing for anybody) and my lady saw them in a way she has never seen them before. We could see the women rushing Mr Sea while he was "Raining" on them,he had them going...looking like a scene from the movie when they performed in a school. Mike had a couple of ladies on him when HE was Raining on them. I wish that you would have let me know that you were going,I would have brought you with Curet, and myself. I missed out on a chance to meet you, face to face. When I got to the show, and got to the dressing room,a gentleman looked at me and said..."Mike?"...I said,"Curet?" This is what makes this board so special to me,when you meet somebody from this board,it's like you knew them forever. Weather you agree on things about the group or not,it made the show just THAT MUCH BETTER for me. Like BB Kings last year,it's a fantastic feeling for me. I'm looking to the next time board members can go to a show together. After doing it once, you'll never want to do it without a fellow board member. Curet got a chance to see why the review work so well together,,,they really like each other,no in-fighting,no drama. Cheech, remember I was teasing you about Tuckahoe Road? Well, that's where the group stayed. Great Time,Great Show,no Kool & The Gang coats!

oh, david was good. he just wasn't as good a people said he would be. I don't know what you expected, but you were the few,if not the only one who came away with that impression. The ladies disagreed with that opinion, thought they would have to get hot water to pour on them to get them off of him. David Sea-Fans would NOT have been upset with his performance!

David Sea-Fans would NOT have been upset with his performance! of course the women are going to think something else. But I am purely looking at the singer. I wasn't impressed with was he did, because it's stuff Tenors can do. They have high voices and if they have any falsetto worth a penny, they can do that stuff. I know Ali can do it and I don't even have to hear him do it.

You know what .............. I'm amazed at how MEN have managed to conquer the world. If this had been three CHICS from this board going to same show ......... we would not have only have MET UP but planned out an itenerary, assigned individual duties, AND planned out coordinating outfits (that were not OBVIOUSLY meant to coordinate with one another) before hand. MISSED seeing one another? Nope, would not have happened, never.
