have a great time, tf14! I've heard that the Chronicle Pavillion is a very nice venue! I'll be seeing them 3 nites later in Sacramento, just with the Four Tops, no O'Jays or Whispers.

The only question I have regarding the appearance of four artistic groups together is whether the audience will get tired. It's not a matter of how good they are, it's a matter of audiences not being used to pay attention to anything for more than five minutes at a time.
Back in the days of radio, audiences listened to a play through one-sense - their ears-- and used their minds and imagination to supply the other ingredients. Along came TV which was viewed through two senses - sight and sound. Audiences lost the ability to imagine and if you gave them a radio program to listen to, they couldn't. Not only has this result been attested to by scientific research but also by the experience and testing of #1 "test it before you believe it-ME." I've tested it countless times, and it's true. If you were born in the days of TV, radio shows/plays bore you.
Certainly Motown originated the tour and knows what to do so it may turn out fine. I'd like to know how long the show lasts, and I feel a bit sorry for whoever comes on last. (And, yes, the "whoever" is correct.)

As long as the performers do their thing and bring their "A" game, the crowd will not get bored. Most music fans that will go to see a show of that nature have a long attention span, remember, shows like this was an everyday thing in the Apollo!

If you were born in the days of TV, radio shows/plays bore you. I guess I'm proof that there's an exception to ever rule. I'm a BIG Burns and Allen fan. The TV show of course, but I love the radio programs just as much. I've also purchased several of the old radio programs for my father and I enjoy listening to them too. The Shadow, The Lone Ranger, Fibber McGee and Molly and my favorite "The Romances of Helen Trent" ("that because a woman is 35, or older, romance in life need not be over…" ) Actually, I credit my strong imagination to television, specifically Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Maybe the people you've tested didn't take enough trips with Trolly to the Land of Make Believe. But back on topic. Yes, at shows where the Tempts share the bill, with the exception of the Four Tops, I get VERY VERY VERY bored. But it's primarily because I don't like the music.
