As The Temptations from behind the stage started singing Awesome, the harmony was heavenly. As they strode on stage, it lifted the sold out crowd higher. They moved like it was the 60's, 70's all over again. And their voices were in complete union of The Tempts past and present. I was truly awe-struck at how good this group sang and danced. I've seen many Temptations' concert, and this had to be one of the greatest I've ever seen. Bo, Terry, Harry, Ron, and the great one himself Otis did The Temptations past, present, and future a great honor in the great show they put on. I was amazed at the feeling Terry put into every song he sang. Four Days was sung better live, I love that song now. As Otis said [before the song started] for the women to listen to the words about mistakes made in relationships, the guys were listening too. Some Enchanted Evening was sung with so much emotion, it was like a clear starry night on the grass in the summertime. Although they did not do a few of my favorites like I Can't Get Next To You, Sail Away, I'm Here, I still was very happy about all the rest. Like Ball Of Confusion, I Wish It Would Rain, Stay, Standing On The Top, and naturally My Girl. All were sung to perfection. Harrys voice was deeper than I thought, Terry sings alot better than I thought, Bo sang the leads very well including Treat Her like a Lady, and My Girl [their final song of the night]. Ron sounds great as always and what can you say about a living legend. Otis was dancing his heart out, moving like the old days. And after all this time he still looks like he is enjoying himself, truly amazing. They came out in black suits with sequence strips upper and lower part of the jackets. Patent leather shoes, black see thru silk shirts, looking clean and refreshed. The watches and rings were to die for. Fantastic show. They did the old stuff justice and the new stuff enjoyable. A night that will last in my mind a very long time. These Temptations are Super, they are truly keeping the tradition alive. They look and sound great. I hope to post pictures later and if I forgot any thing now, I'll put it in later posts. Oh, did I mention a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT show, I guess I did already... ;D ;D ;D

Here's another AC review posted by "Creamy" on the Tempts' Concert Review board. See Sukka, I'm not the only one who calls them "sherbeRt." (Let me know if this italics is too hard on the eyes.) Well the guys were Men in Black on Friday! They weren't too lively on friday. I hope it was just jet lag! The black outfits had a siver design. Ron's youngest daughter did the My girl routine with her Dad!
Now Saturday was a different story! They came out in their Sherbert outfits, just brightening up the stage and they had more bounce in their steps and the winning smiles. Mr. Weeks just danced and sang his heart out! The most enjoyable part of the show was to hear Harry do Ole Man River. DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat! The man had everyone standing giving him a big ovation! He sang the song with so much emotion. He started singing the song right in front of my seat! The rest of the group sang in acapello (sp) and sounded like the classic five. Need I say more! Ron had two of his daughters sing the my girl routine!
Now Sunday, when they walked out - they were breathe taking! Dressed in cream pants and peach color jackets (Peaches 'n Cream)! All of them have a different presents on stage in their own way but Terry is so electricfying and Harry giving that eye contact and smile. Yes Harry sang Ole Man River again. I just couldn't contain myself. Charm was sitting next to me and boy we were just so overwhelm by his performance and Harry was very emotional singing this time. They gave him some time to get it together. This time Harry's daughter sang in the my girl routine. It was a beautiful weekend not only seeing the tempts but putting a face to some of things screen names and sharing a wonderful birthday with Ellen and I am so sorry that you had that accident and let me know how the fingers are doing and to all the rest of you posters and friends who were there we must do this again! From the Temptations Concert Review Board www.quicktopic.com/8/H/ETuhkUqAznqC

Unfortunately, Harry on Friday did not do Ole Man River. And I forgot to mention about Ron bringing out one of his daughters to do My Girl. It look like I should have stayed the weekend for all the shows. Maybe next time, in Vegas...

Can you imagine us telling the matre'd (too lazy to look up the correct spelling of that word,) "Yes, we'd like a table for forty-five." I can tell you from experience. I've been to shows with a horde of Tempts-obsessed fans and I've been to shows with my family and loved ones who really had no clue as to who they were seeing and the "hoarde" shows were by FAR the most fun because you've got someone there with you who "gets it." Don't tell Jonel, but Fair Lady Soul and I intend to lock Mr. Jonel in the car at the concert we're going to in a few weeks so he can't get out and we'll have Jonel all to ourselves for the show! When a bunch of us went to a show in AC a few years back, there was another woman there who wasn't with us who had on a Tempts t-shirt and one of those purses that you can stick photos in so that they show on the outside. The photos appeared to be photos of the Tempts. Anyway, I wanted to go over and hug her and bring her into the fold.

But then again if we ALL went to Vegas we wouldn't have to write reviews.

I'm visiting in southern Florida, but I finally got my computer hooked up to the internet. It was so exciting reading all your reviews, and the black suits sounded fantastic! I love subtle elegance.
Now a request for Ivory and everyone. As I drove the miles and miles to arrive here, I, naturally, played Tempt sounds, both past and present, all the way here. And I like Awesome more each time I hear. My request is that Ivory and her cohorts do whatever is needed to get Awesome way up on the charts, platinum or whatever, My Girl way up on the charts, and whatever else is needed for the recognition the Tempts deserve. And I guess this means bombarding radio stations for playtime. After all, they do pay attention to listeners' requests.

After watching the slightly shorter VHS version of The Temptations for nigh on to a thousand times, I finally got a DVD and played my DVD version.
1. I loved it when Eddie answers Al's question about why they need to dance, "So the people will have something to watch while I am in front singing sweetly."
2. But I was puzzled by the scene where Eddie takes some of the cocaine with David.
Did Eddie ever use drugs? That scene was the only indication I had that he might have. From comments he made in interviews, both in print and on video, I did not think he ever did.

janebse, I don't remember in Otis's book of him mentioning that Eddie was on drugs. Even Otis mentioned about the part in the movie that had David and his mother doing or selling drugs was false. Maybe with association the movie people had Eddie using drugs as well. I just didn't think Eddie was on the stuff.

Tony Turner refers to Eddie's drug use in Deliver Us From Temptation, pages 176-177, Eddie, David and Dennis were in Las Vegas. Tony said of Eddie, after Eddie declined to meet Frank Sinatra

Ok Jane, I'm off to buy another hundred thousand more CDs. I'll be giving them as gifts for the next 10 years! I think, with regard to all of them, if the truth were to be known, we'd all wish we didn't know the truth. Get my drift? (just speculating of course.)

That's the great thing about the movie, it showed behind the scenes of this great group. We knew about David and Paul, but then we found out about Eddie. It affectes the best of them. Whether it's drugs, alcohol, women, too much money, or any other addiction. It's sad but true.

My pictures from the concert will be ready on Saturday. I put them on cd to email them easier, hope they came out. Ivory's pictures are always good. Haven't heard anymore word about The Temptations on The Tonight Show. Still checking, I'm pretty sure I heard right. We shall see.
