Those pics of MikeNYC's mom hugging (and hugging, and hugging, and hugging) Dennis give a good example of how huggable SOME of them are, anyways

LOL Sukka, I bet fans can be annoying sometimes. And I have to agree, Dennis ranks pretty high on the hugability scale I would think. Kalisa, I'm gonna hold you to it.

Sukka wanted to know how the Greek Theatre went. Here's are view from another board. [Posted by "Ykrep90807" RonTyson.com Concert Review Board, www.quicktopic.com/8/H/ETuhkUqAznqC/p793.786 ] ....................Five of the most delicious looking men walked out on the stage of the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles,California shortly after 9:00 p.m. on October 5, 2002. But,before they appeared...there was a video of five of the mostdelicious looking men who had a smooth music sound...outstandingchoreography, and voices so sincere, harmonic, and melodous thatthe snow on Mount Everest would melt if the tunes ever reached the airways. Yes, THE TEMPTATIONS were here in force...I'mstill trying to recover. Their suits: the softest, sexiest lavender to ever grace the curves of their physiques. The shoes: matched the suits of course. Their hankies: a slightly darker, deeper lavender color. Their shirts: a light lavender to coordinate with the suits. OOOOOOOOO, I lost my mind somewhere between the first downbeat when the band warmed up and didn't regain it until they left the stage. By that time I had taken off my jacket (albeit a lightweight material), had sweated through my silk blouse, was panting from exhaustion from dancing the night away, and was hoarse from singing, and screaming out their names. I have got it bad y'all...TEMPTATION FEVER!!!!! If there is a cure for this...I don't want it!!! Right after the video ended they sang the Awesome intro in its entirety from off stage. The harmony, the tone, their voices, the music...AWESOME!!!!

Here's the rest of the review.
I don't remember if they strolled out...ran onto the stage..or how they got there...my eyes were flucuating between the big screen so I could get close up views, the stage to see all of them at once...and back again to the screen. Wonderful, fantastic, tonic for the ailing...whatever you needed, it was fulfilled that night!!!
Bo's 'fro is jumping. He was wearing larger black rim glasses...looked so much like David Ruffin it was incredible!!
Just looking at Bo, Otis, Terry, Ron, and Harry would make you want to get a spoon and just eat 'em up!!!!
Otis talked about his book, various CDs including the My Girl collection...hmmm? did he mention a new one for next year? I don't know...I hung on his every word but like I said...I was not in my right state of mind. I sat about 11 rows back in the section behind the 6 row pit area. I was the end seat on the aisle... thank goodness because I believe I only sat down during Four Days, Some Enchanted Evening, and Ole Man River.
Was the show tight? Hell yeah!!
Were their moves so precise hot butter would not have sliced more smoothly? Hell yeah!!
Did they look so good I thought I had died and went to heaven? Hell yeah!!
Treat Her Like A Lady...Four Days...Ole Man River...Some Enchanted Evening...interlude:'Jones..Stay...'Wish It Would Rain...My Girl...and about 6 more that I could not recall if my life depended on it. Just Shoot Me!!!!!
The near-sell out crowd was OK. The Greek Theatre is an outdoor venue so sound travelled upward. I am glad I was seated a bit back from the stage because I have found out that being in the front rows doesn't allow me to appreciate the sound and dancing they do. For a close up view all I had to do was to look at the video screens. But, looking at the screens caused me to miss a move during their dancing because the camera person would center on a face. Mostly, I just stayed in the zone by watching them as a whole.
Now, get this...the guys looked fabulous in their suits and they are so tough that even the microphone stands and the base was decorated in their colors with rhine stone studs just like the buttons on their suits. I hesitate to use this word for guys, but THEY LOOKED "BEAUTIFUL"!!! They were dancing and moving like they had energy to burn and spare. Terry seemed to have on skates he moved so smoothly...Otis must have had springs and not bones in his legs..Bo, Harry, and Ron must have taken a magic syrup...they glided, spun, jumped, turned, dipped, and never missed a step or a beat. Their voices....oooohhh, aaaahhhh, umph, umph, umph.
Nope, no pictures. If I could put my brain into the computer only then could you truly appreciate the sights and sounds.
Ron's (younger?)(youngest?) daughter sang My Dad during My Girl...a woman with a slender body (more nice outfit than anything), long blond curls, and a nice smile..(she was pretty)..got Ron and the guys' attention with her "shoes"...y'all know what I mean, BUT she couldn't sing or wiggle her hips...the man from the audience couldn't dance, sing or anything...so much off key, out of tune, hahaha...the credit card scenario was slightly different..we still can't go shopping because Terry's new card has a $200 limit and 3/4 of that isn't available according to Ron.
It was a fabulous night..about 68 - 72 degrees...the stars were out in the sky and they were shinning brighter on stage...at one point I believe they turned on the blowers to cool it off because the Tempts made the night air so hot!!!

I'm going to see the Temptations shortly. I counted the days they would be in concert from now till Christmas. I hope they're not exhausted when I see them. But those one night stands must be tiring. I felt like sending them a wire to put on a really good show because some relatives are going with me, and they think I'm off my rocker for enjoying the Temptations sooooo much. In fact, they are always giving me tapes or CD's of some horrible singers that they like, thinking that I will see there are other singers in the world. But all I see is that they have little taste. Although one did admit after I made her sit and watch the movie, that she couldn't get the songs out of her head.
So I hope they're not tired when I see them. I want them to really be good so everyone can see for themselves why I enjoy them so much.

But about the lavender suits. It wasn't clear from the concert review whether the current Tempts were in lavender, or whether the Classic Five were in lavender. From what I've read, there are no color clips of the Classic Five Tempts wearing their famous lavender suits. And I know the current Tempts have lavender suits. Wouldn't Eddie be happy to know they still wear lavender suits!
Do you think the video clips shown on the screen were of the Classic Five? And, if so, have the clips been colorized a la Ted Turner and his movies?
I leave tomorrow to see them, and I am so excited. I wonder if they will use the screen where I see them. They didn't the other three times I saw them this past summer. I guess we're in fall now.

Oops! Was the video of the Classic Five or of the present group?
Several words suggested the Classic Five to me. I know on TV shows they frequently use that technique.

ANother thought. Do you think Bo is emphasizing the Ruffin look? I didn't think he was with the hairdo. I just thought it was time to change it. You don't prove anything by keeping the same hair style 30 years.
And the style of glasses changes too.
I had to laugh about not know whether they glided, ran, hopped or however they got on the stage. I've been there too. And I know the frustration of wanting to see everything and hating to look at screens which just show what the camera man wants to see.

Jane, thanks for posting that review. From now on I'm making vice-president of concert review on other boards posting. Hope you don't mind me editing your post to show who the author etc. was. We usually make a big deal about what the Tempts ON STAGE are wearing, so, in keeping with that tradition, I'm guessing that's what Betti (YKrep) was referring to, the current Tempts. ........ The video I've seen before concerts shows a mixture of classic Tempts footage and clips from the movie. It's enough to make any hard-core classic Tempts fan scream! Bo's startin' to look like Ruff, oh dear, what is the world commin' to? `

oh yeah i do know that their concerts are tailored to the audience. when they perform at a theatre it is different than one at a club. know what i mean. and there is nothing wrong with feeling like you do about those guys. i love it. problem is the only one who feelsthat way about me is my dog.
