Of course, he can't "unwrite" his book ... I was joking about him revising what he said first. Yet, I am not accusing him of a multitude of offenses, McRibs. The only thing I am accusing Otis of is that he appears to be selfish and imperious ... but I am giving a multitude of reasons why I think he is.
I am sorry, however, that I have added the statement about Paul's questionable suicide without making clear that I don't think Otis was involved in a foul play .... I rather suspect the Motown machinery to have played a role in his death (I have stated this point of view many times before).

It sure wasn't me commenting on sox, but yes I agree that Paul's problems had a place in the story and history of the Temptations. If the book wasn't supposed to make money, why publish it? Please. I don't feel he "exploited" anybody, he told the story. I don't feel that Otis exploited anyone ,either. I know he did. Again,he had no business putting Paul's business in the street like he did. And for profit. What make you think that the book would not have made money without exploiting Paul? There's enough real hardcore Temptations fans that would have brought the book without that crap in it. I,don't see how you can honestly say that he didn't exploit Paul. Hell, he didn't show a picture of Flo Ballard,or Patti sitting on his lap ,did he? Show & Tell that story. Those relationships had nothing to do with the group's story, the Gamble & Huff thing did. Give me a break,he wasn't trying to tell the group's story,he was on the exploitation tip! Just to make a buck! Just like he said he wouldn't in that article that you commented about. Please, you know it. :laughing

My thing is that seems like nobody wants to say anything about the positive things in Paul's life.If the positive is highlighted in the same format as the other info maybe people will talk positive about Paul. Bits in pieces of info here and there are not going to negate the impact of a movie or a book. Especially, the movie because of the dramatization of the facts. Its etched in people's minds. The drinking and the eventual suicide was the climax of the film. I'm not trying to put blame on anyone,I just wonder why nobody seeks to find these things.I'm sure that people seek these things out but they aren't published or well documented or are easily accessible. But really and truly I think that there are some people who have sought things and found some answers whether they post it here or not. If they don't then they don't really care about the truth or they are satisfied that they know the truth. In any event demanding and asking for them to seek it is a waste of time, imo. As I said in an earlier post YOU should do something with this info you have. Its too important. You really think so? People seek these things out? If they did, they would find it I would think that it's more accessible than...trying to find out who owns the "Temptations Review" name, wouldn't you? ::)But ,like you said,IF THEY WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH,I'm no Laker's fan,but they can't handle the truth! ;D If they could, don't you think their quest for the truth would demand them to seek it? I'm not demanding that anyone seeks it,why should I? As far as me doing something about it thought about it,but as important as it is,a pair of socks will get more attention.

GOOD GRIEF!!!! It's almost worth the effort to get you to meet the man so you would know that he's not selfish!!!! Sheeesh!!!!!!!! If I was asserting the kinds of things about David that you continually assert about Otis (even if you do cast them aside as an "impression" and not a "fact") I would be run off my own board!

Okay, if you can arrange a meeting ... I wouldn't say no. The problem is, meeting him a couple of times would not do. We (Otis and I ;D) would have to establish a relationship in which our behavior would become more than the usual pleasant "Nice to meet you" talk ... You know what I mean, Ivory. If you've met a person several times you do not know him/her. It takes certain situations to find out what character a person possesses ... Maybe, he can call me and we can talk a while before we meet :laughing

Y'all are welcome to listen ... if Otis agrees, that is ;D What do you think would we be talking about first? Knowing you, I think you would start out by asking 1000 questions about David...and then take it from there.

Knowing you, I think you would start out by asking 1000 questions about David...and then take it from there. That would be wrong, of course ... No man wants to talk about another man than himself first. ;D I really think I would ask him whether he has ever considered to make a true documentary about the Temptations. You know with real historic material ... Like scenes in the studio or from performances ... I would love to see something like that. Yeah I would work my way from the general issues to the specifics, I think.
