Mike, seriously. You have all this info. Its time to do something with it. Only one side has been told. Tell the rest. I agree.. It doesnt have to be a book thats 300 pages long.. I have a book that I helped with.. its only 100 pages long with quite a few pages of pictures.and great little personal stories, accounts of what she saw for herself or what she heard straight from a Chief. (about Montana and the Crow and Northern Cheyenne People in the 1920's) I was helping my "half-sisters Grandmother" get down all this info of her growing up on a reservation in the '20's. Of course it wasnt a best seller or anything. Wasn't ment to be. but it was a bit of history that no one knew about, with pictures..and its a treasure. I think about all the relatives of the people in those pictures.. and she was the only one to have those pictures that came from a box in the attic that her father took in the 20's. I think you should do it.. I think everyone should do it. I've been known to buy small little known books before.

Who's that in them photos? Yes,that's the picture that I was talking about. I assure you that I don't have a drinking problem! LOL ! Soul did six issues to the Tempts around 1970. In the Otis article ,he said that he would jot things down over the years. Melvin was a comic book nut. He loved Batman. He also said that when Paul was out,he would sing Paul's parts, which Paul vouched for. Mel said that they could go on with four,he made it sound like they practiced like that in the event someone was out. Paul touched on why he would be out. They even had a picture of his business partner Winnie Brown. My thing is that seems like nobody wants to say anything about the positive things in Paul's life. I'm not trying to put blame on anyone,I just wonder why nobody seeks to find these things. I admire you Kalisa because you will read it all. I've told you this before. Paul was hardly a skid row bum. He was nowhere near a wineo. But it seems like the positive things don't sell books. Sure,Otis can write anything he wants to,I just remember how upset he was when the article that I posted on Dennis came out. You talked about it in one of your posts. If you can see it,why can't everyone else? That's why I take exception to Otis' book. Dennis didn't get personal,he just told about the way things were. David missed being in the group. He said so. . It's easier to control a group as opposed to an individual artist. The Supremes were charting right out of the starting gate while Diana was struggling on the charts. Why? Drugs,Drinking? Soul did six issues to the Tempts around 1970.Okay where in the world do you find Soul magazines from 1970 unless you get them from a collector? My thing is that seems like nobody wants to say anything about the positive things in Paul's life.If the positive is highlighted in the same format as the other info maybe people will talk positive about Paul. Bits in pieces of info here and there are not going to negate the impact of a movie or a book. Especially, the movie because of the dramatization of the facts. Its etched in people's minds. The drinking and the eventual suicide was the climax of the film. I'm not trying to put blame on anyone,I just wonder why nobody seeks to find these things.I'm sure that people seek these things out but they aren't published or well documented or are easily accessible. But really and truly I think that there are some people who have sought things and found some answers whether they post it here or not. If they don't then they don't really care about the truth or they are satisfied that they know the truth. In any event demanding and asking for them to seek it is a waste of time, imo. He yried to go on ,but when his first single was released, folks went to the record store asking for "My Whole World Ended...by the Temptations. That was the problem. Well his voice is the voice people most associate with the Temptations back then and right to this day. I think that song was still a big hit for him though. The Supremes were charting right out of the starting gate. They sounded better without Ross.. while Diana was struggling on the charts. Why? Drugs,Drinking? No. She sucked early on. As I said in an earlier post YOU should do something with this info you have. Its too important.

Mike: Paul touched on why he would be out. They even had a picture of his business partner Winnie Brown.
I really don't want to discuss this, just pointing out I find it a little inconsistent that you, Mike, come unglued at Otis for mislabelling a picture of Paul with his wife, but have no problem with a picture of his "business partner" appearing in a national magazine in conjunction with Paul. Certainly his wife knew of the deeper connection and everybody else does too...though it wasn't portrayed in the movie in any way.
Just commenting...I don't want to go into it because it has nothing to do with the Group.

That's right Anna, you'll notice that I'm considerate enough to give these guys the benefit of the doubt and not claim that anything I've read or heard is the absolute truth. ........ unlike other certain lovely ladies here on the board. For us to to Try to suppose what kind of relationship these two men had and imply something negative is way out of line if you ask me. There is NO ONE on this planet other than Otis who can speak to his relationship with Eddie.

There is NO ONE on this planet other than Otis who can speak to his relationship with Eddie. or more especially speak to the relationship/friendship between Otis and Paul...Eddie and Otis both at various times mentioned or indicated issues between them. Paul and Otis is a whole nother ball of wax...

How was it not necessary? If Paul had a drinking problem and that problem led to his departure from the group, how was that not relevant? What was O supposed to write? "Well, so one day we just up and decided that Paul shouldn't be in the group anymore ......... and then we went to Cleveland........"

His name is on the front of the book ......... BIG LETTERS ........... there is no question that's it's one man's version. The book maybe. But definitely not the movie. Didn't you see the movie before you read the book? Honestly, what were your thoughts? Did you think this was the story about the Temptations period.?

........ unlike other certain lovely ladies here on the board. Huh? What's up with this little dig? I hope you're not taking the stuff on this board personal. What do you care what people believe? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I assumed that this was a place to share, discuss and debate them freely without judgment or criticism. Correct me if I'm wrong. For us to to try to suppose what kind of relationship these two men had and imply something negative is way out of line if you ask me.Out of line? How so? What line are you talking about? Are you regulating what's said on this board? Its just discussion and expression of opinions. There is NO ONE on this planet other than Otis who can speak to his relationship with Eddie. How do you know? I'm sure there are people that have been around them who can as well as Paul's relationship with Otis' for that matter. They may not be able to give all the details but surely they can attest to whether or not the guys were friends. That's why I asked Aba the question. He's been around them, he might have known the answer.

So do I, Ivory. All I am expressing here on this board is my my very private opinion ... feelings, thoughts that were aroused by the things I've read and heard about the Temptations. Nothing else. I hope that the lovely lady you're addressing isn't me! Because, I unlike other lovely persons, never claim to know the truth ... I am just trying to share my thoughts and views on the various subjects ;D
PS: ... and convince anyone else that I am right :laughing :laughing :laughing

I have been around them a lot but I don't suppose to really know what any other their personal relationships were. I do know how Melvin felt about each of them cause he told me............But I would be lying if I said I knew all the ins and outs of any of their relationships. ;D
