Five or six shows a day. I knew they were on the road all the time but wow that's a lot. Yes,this is what artists like the tempts did then. That's why I respect them so much, truth be told...the main reason. Artists today could never do that. In my opinion. A lot of them can't do two shows a day.

A lot of them can't do two shows a day. Quite frankly no one should be pushed to those limits. I know none of the artists of today could perform at those levels.

Quite frankly no one should be pushed to those limits. I know none of the artists of today could perform at those levels. Well for the new artists they don't need too. For instance Mariah Carey sold millions of ALBUMS before she ever went out on tour. They do television specials and videos to be seen and get their music to the masses. The Tempts and others of that era didn't have the technological conveniences of artists today. Some artists don't even bother to do live shows let alone more than one a day.

Wonderful article. Thanks for taking us back. A lot of the artist today shouldn't attempt to do live shows until they actually learn how to sing.

David acted ugly...NOOOOO! Hey, my dad went to the University of Delaware...not that anyone cares. I might have to start using old slang, though.

Then they would have been even more famous than they are today.

Then they would have been even more famous than they are today. You really think so? It would have changed everything. ...I've got a sweeter song...
