ok mike, maybe the tempts didn't start winning grammy awards until Dennis came in to the group but what about in 2001 when they won one for 'Ear-resistable'? was Dennis in the group then? no he wasn't and The Temptations still got one!  ....and i'm pretty sure they will win a whole lot more grammys They didn't "Win" a damn thing...it was a gift. Plain & Simple. You think that they will win another is wishful thinking. Or Begging? The Grammy that was the least heard. |

I'm a fan of The Temptations...any lineup from 1961 to 2004 and i don't like to choose between Otis or Dennis or any other former member...i think it sucks that we all just can't have love for Dennis,Otis,Ron ...Ali or whoever! It would be great if there could be a reunion again between all the present and former members so we don't have to choose which member we love and hate. Temptations 4-ever

It seems to me that OTIS Williams has taken the low road for fame and glory...if Mr bush didn't want Dennis Edwards and his personel then he indeed would not have allowed himself and his wife Ms Laura to be photographed with Dennis..various members of the group and their women/wives.
Otis is suffering from JEALOUSY and ENVY...he is the victim fo his own doings...what ever day it is DENNIS will reign supreme...it reminds me of Diana and Mary...mary's day came and Dirty Diana is paying the cost for being the boss...every thing and every body has a season and a time for shining..it is now Dennis' time and inspite of Otis' small mined tactics..Dennis will rise to the top...Eddie Kendrick sang that the creme always rises to the TOP...YEAH for Dennis....for taking the high road and being the man that he is...He never denigrates Otis in public or private and always speaks well of him. otis should take a lesson and repent for his childish and very limited attitude toward Dennis...Whn he does he may perhaps understand that he is only making himself look bad....as the least talented of the TEMPTATIONs old and new he should humble himself and move forward...there's room for every one...until he understands that...all will not go well for him...heavy pants and sweaters or even long underwear will not warm the chilll that he is affectuating for himself...Otis you need to grow up and take the high road...Dennis Edwards will always be a major component of the TEMPTATIONS because he is a hit maker...the songs you sing...no matter who imitates them...will always belong to DENNIS EDWARDS and no body you have ever employed can JAM like the big D can...so get real and stop the messing around...your group is suffering..Tyson on the stool...GC struggling along..Terry who can't hang in there and your new man Joe standing behind the curtain cause he don't know the routines...so what do we have here...a bald headed 62 year old go maniac who thinks in his samll ten percent pea brain that he is a star...well once you were because of who and what you were surrounded by...not because any body was coming to see OTIS...people even wanted to see Melvin Franklin/David English more the Otis...any way what did you do or should we ask what do you do?
Giving respect where it is due...otis does look great for 62...but his eveil tongue and mind take the glory of that away..if you can't say some thing nice..don't say nothing at all...you talk all sweet and complimentary about Eddie and David because they are dead now...but you did the same thing when they were alive..you have spent years being the devil and trying to block people from making aliving..get out of the way and collect your royalties... go home and rest and let the best do the job...stop talking about dennis and old fourteen year old trifling incidents...all you can bring your self to say about Dennis is something negative..he ain't bothering you...stop trying to make people think that he's on drugs and telling war stories abotu his past...the man is CLEAN...do you get it..the past is behind him and he is on solid ground...standing on the TOP...DENNIS EDWARDS..if you were smart you would really try to work out a major coue and bring the remaining two of you together and really get paid for the last goe round...THINK O...you are really making your self look like a complete fool making all these allegations about amn who doesn't say one bad word about you...OTIS you are a dissapointment...

What the hell are you talkin' about?! Otis never talk down on Dennis, sure he's upset that the review are taking credit for what The Temptations have done but he always talks well about who Dennis is.....in every interview i've heard with Otis speaking about Dennis he always says that he's a very talanted brother and that they shared some good times together and that he has alot of love for him. I don't think that Otis would ever go and say in an interview that he don't like Dennis or that he's not a good performer. They used to be very good friends for christ sake...

TRUTH you can go to hell for saying those things about Otis!! i'm sure alot of people would agree with me who has nothing but love for him. You don't know what the hell you are talking about so do yourself a favor and never come back here beacuse you bring NOTHING but negative thoughts about The Temptations. If it wasn't for Otis The Temptations would have been done 30 years ago when Paul and Eddie left but he believes in the legacy so much and he has dedicated his life to what he loves doing so how the hell can you disrespect him like that?! What, you don't think that Dennis didn't make a few mistakes here and there? In 1977 he left he wasn't fired and in 1983 he was fired because he sniffed cocaine and couldn't keep it together. I love Dennis because i think he was one of the greatest Temptations of all time but he wansn't no saint either. Why the f*** do everybody around this board hate Otis so much? it pisses me off that loyal Temptations fans can't show a little love for him.......he's one of the original Temptations damit!! Those people who feel like they need to spread negative comments of Otis can just keep your freakin' mouths SHUT! cause no one wants to hear that bullshit..........we're here to spread love for The Temptations not bitching about how Otis is being mean to Dennis. GROW UP!! MUCH LOVE & RESPECT TO YOU OTIS...one of the originals!! keep up the great work!

Tempfan, I told another board member I wasn't gonna post on this thread inasmuch as it had degenerated into what many of the threads here always do and that hating on one or the other......I am not saying Otis or Dennis is perfect but in the Temptation world they are to me.....and that's really all I care about......I'm not here to pit one against the other and so your point of why would Temptations fans...if in fact that's what we call ourselves....would do that in the first place, is one I agree with totally. None of us were there to know exactly what happened no matter how old we are, who we know in the group, band or at Motown. We were not there. It is purely speculation on anyone's part as to what really occured...If you base your opinions on what you've read in books or seen on tv, it's still not something you know for a fact. If someone in the "know" connected to the group told you something, that person's word is no better than any other person in the group's word. We can only offer our own opinions in a way that we all should respect and should we disagree, find a way to do so without making it personal. We are all gathered here for the same purpose....to learn and to share.......I want to keep it that way, even if I sometimes feel as emtional as Tempfan did................................

I only want positive thoughts about the group/members.....former or present! And if there's someone who needs to be shut down, it's that Truth character...........cause he obviously wants The Temptations to retire. I received positive reinforcement today in the mail when I opened a letter from my cousin who lives in a suburb of Flint, Michigan. She had sent me the article 'Tempting Fate" from the Flint newspaper. And there in living color heading the article and wearing bright red suits with white shirts, black handkerchiefs and red shoes were the Temptations. The Temptations were almost a foot high and covered a large portion of the page. Such a heart-warming and cheerful sight. The suits had shorter jackets than the long red jackets they wore for the Motown Christmas show. My, but they looked good!
She had just returned to Michigan from a vacation to a warmer spot. She loved their show. And I appreciated her thoughtfulness in sending me the article and picture. I had wanted to go to Michigan to visit her and the Temptations, just not in the winter time. I haven't driven in snow and ice for a long time.
