Should be some good stories on this thread. Looking forward to them. My plans...maybe a turkey TV dinner and some football. Exciting, huh?

Let's see. The past two years I've had a huge dinner with my parents, grandparents, and... band director. He's male and single, so my family feels sorry for him or something. But I kinda sick and tired of one of my teachers being at family events. Anyway, this year, I hope my parents will let me spend Thanksgiving at my boyfriends house, but who knows?
Is there any food where it just wouldn't seem like Thanksgiving if you didn't have it?
Mine would be this green bean stuff and also this, like, mashed-sweet-potatos-with-marshmallows my grandma makes. I don't even like marshmallows, but it wouldn't seem like Thanksgiving without the stuff!

You should probably just smile and put up with it for their sakes. Must food: Stuffing and sweet potatoes! Yum! ;D ...don't look back...

Eat and watch TV and go home, (at the folks) We haven't been "together" as a family around the dinner table since I was little, now the kids eat at the table, my folks and I eat and watch Tv on the couch.

My family really doesn't do the Thanksgiving thing. I don't have a big family and, until recently, all of our relatives lived elsewhere. We're not big fans of the traditional food ............... we actually have made a tradition out of frozen lasagna. Strange but true.
We get to spend the day together, and that's all that matters.

My Husband and I spend all holidays with our Daughter - Son-In-Law and 2 Grandkids. My Daughter is an Officer of our local volunteer Fire Dept. - she is both a Fireman and a EMT. So we always pray that there are no fire or Aid calls during our holiday.
We will be having Turkey - Stuffing - Mashed Potatoes - Sweet Potatoes - Gravy - Corn - Cranberry Sauce - Olives - Green Salad and usually Apple Pie for dessert.
We also have lots of munchies for watching football before dinner - including my Taco Dip - which just recently made it into the PBS cookbook.

It has been a bad month for 5 of my family members...hospitals, broken bones, emergency rooms... To protest, I ate Mongolian shrimp and vegetables with fried rice yesterday. Hope the next holidays are better...whew! ...I wish it would rain...
