"today is the big day....we will see if your 'intel' is accurate:Okay... Of the ten senate seats I claimed were up for grabs... - I said Republicans would retain their seats in AK and OK...they did. - I said Republicans would pick up seats in GA, NC and SC...they did. - I said Democrats would pick up seats in CO and IL...they did. - I said FL, LA and SD were too close to call (LA because of the 50% rule)...they were. - I said Republicans would add 2-4 seats to their lead...they have. As of this post, Republicans have added three senate seats to their majority with a fourth, in Florida, on the way. In the House, I said Republicans will not only hold their lead, but add to their majority. As of this post, they've added six new seats previously held by Democrats. How's 100%, Gua? Is my "intel" accurate enough for ya? On a side note, I raised the question about what we should expect Tuesday...in essence, how would America judge this president's first term?Well, America has spoken. By taking every single one of the available senate seats in the south away from Democrats...by defeating the chief senate obstructionist on the left...by re-electing this president with the highest popular vote total in U.S. history...America has overwhelmingly rejected the vitriolic rhetoric and divisive tactics of the liberal fringe and sent a clear message that traditional American values of morality, character, honor, hard work, strength and independence are what built this country...and what will keep it strong in the face of adversity. It wasn't just George Bush and Republicans who won Tuesday... America won. Beej, unfortuntately you were correct, in my mind it is the beginning of the "dumbing down" of America. The democrats have lost their way and have given the not-so-compassionate right-wing a clear majority....all I can say is heaven help us all.

Do you honestly think that we wouldn't need heaven to help us if Democrats were in power? Do you think God actually thinks that the world doesn't need his attention if Billy-boy or (God forbid) Al or John were in charge? Please...

The "dumbing down of America?" See, that's the crux of the matter right there! The Democrats need to stop the attitude of being "the superior intellect" party...that's what messed things up and pissed off enough Republicans to get their a**es out there to vote! Sorry, but I'll be a braggart and say it's bullshit. I have an IQ of 167... so says Stanford Binet.... so to say that the Republicans are the "dumb party" is an insult to myself, and to everyone who voted that way. Shame on you!

Peach I've never said that Democrats are the "superior intellect" Nor have I said that republicans are superior intellect. I've also never said Republicans are a "dumb party"....I am a straight Democrat all the way to the bone, but I'm not hating on The Republicans. I just have different views than you MissPeach. But thats one of the two things people shouldn't talk about especially if there is a difference (huge) Religion and POlitics.

I don't think there is a typical Democrat or Republican! I do think everyone has their own opinion. Heck, in some places, you get shot for being anti-presidente! Freedom is democracy! Rejoice...we are alive! The world isn't over! The Temps music is playing. We are still one country! ;D ...all I need... No, there isn't a "typical Democrat or Republican," but I do know that my dealings with the Democrat majority of a newsgroup I frequent. I cannot even count any more, how many times Republicans were referred to as "mouth-breathers," or myself, a "Stepford Wife." etc. The overwhelming tone.....Republicans are stupid, Democrats are intellects. My brain is fried....hope that made sense. Peach
