Thanks, everyone, for their good thoughts. I didn't think it would be this hard.....I seem to be doing worse than everyone else. I didn't think I would miss her this much! Peach

Peach, in some ways, I think losing a pet can be harding than losing a human family member. They can mean as much to you as another human does, but yet we don't take the time to mourn for them like we can a human. It's unfortunate.

Peach, in some ways, I think losing a pet can be harding than losing a human family member. They can mean as much to you as another human does, but yet we don't take the time to mourn for them like we can a human. It's unfortunate. I think it's because pets usually commit no wrong-doings, if ya know what I mean. Nothing to really *hurt* a person emotionally. A lot of times a human's death can be affected by how we feel about them inside, so we have all this stuff churning around. (I know that's how it was when I lost my father.) Coco was probably the best dog we've ever had....I know a lot of people say that, but it's true. She didn't have any behavior problems.....never bit or had an "accident" ......was *so* obedient and just wanted to please.....and very soft-hearted. My daughter was raised with her... and you know how toddlers can be sometimes. But Coco was so patient and never aggravated by her. She used to lie by Anna's crib while she slept.....like she was keeping watch over her. And since Anna is an only child, she was like her sibling. It's weird.... Anna didn't cry this weekend, but last night the dam burst. For some reason, we got this idea to watch old movies.....she wanted to see herself little. Well, I guess she forgot that Coco would be in most of them, and that brought it all out. Which is good, in a way, because I was starting to worry. Anna has this amazing way of "willing away" painful feelings.... sickness, sadness..... she hates to cry or feel bad. So she really need to cry... considering how close she was to Coco. Thanks for letting me get it all out there. I'm feeling a little better...not crying so much. Nights are the hardest, though. It was good, in a way, to see how full of life Coco was in those movies. When you watch a dog grow old, sometimes you don't notice fully just how much they've aged...how they're not the same. Nadine/Peach
